I don't really mind if it's never referenced again. Not everything needs to be part of the continuity forever or lead to a bigger picture. Hell, My Little Pony is probably one of the better shows out there for strong continuity, so they can allow SOME stuff to be left alone. I just don't really want it to get to a point where Fluttershy can't ever visit Applejack, or be around apples in general, in case of setting off her vampirism. I wouldn't mind them just bringing it back and resolving it at some point, though I could see where if you wanted to make it a consistent feature of her character it could be problematic. Though by the same token they could probably mine some decent comedy out of it. |

I agree that most of the ep should have been done musical style (a la "Cats") but the one song really set the mood.
Continuity regarding Cider season, nice touch
Flutterbat - loved it.
Was expecting more actual interaction with the bats to keep it from being another "Swarm of the Century". Also, this close to bucking season, I can't see Granny, Mac and Bloom all going to Appleloosa. I'd think Mac would at least stay behind for bucking duties.

This is Halloween this is Halloween pumpkins apples scream in the dead of night... That's the one shame about this late start date for season 4, because this would have made a smashing Halloween episode even more so than Castlemania. But then again this the same network that thinks that two mediocre animated films and another animated film with a mediocre editing job is suitable New Year's Day entertainment.  My personal episode score is 9/10, another well paced episode with a good song and some stunning character designs and set pieces make for another first rate episode. And I am certain as the lot of you are, that all of these open ended episode endings are all leading to something big later on down the line. Now if you'll excuse I'm off to look at all the Rainbow Dash as Helen Lovejoy pictures that will have no doubt sprung up due to this episode. |
