I'm giving this episode a 9. I love bats anyway, though I was a little disappointed they weren't just the fruit bats we saw in the Apple Family Reunion but with fangs. The disinterested bat reading a comic book was incredible.
I really liked Flutterbat. And the whole premise. It was just a really fun episode.

Strong start, currently putting it in the mix with Princess Twilight Sparkle and Power Ponies as the highest-rated episode of the season so far.
Still think that this will probably be a stand-alone gag and Flutterbat will not tie into any season arc or further continuity, beyond maybe a slight phobia of apples.

I'll have to give this a rewatch later, but it's leaning to an 8 right now. Pinkie felt annoying, and I didn't like Rainbow Dash's concerns being just about cider, and very little else. I'd also say that like LC, I didn't care for the "I was right all along" ending.
Other than that, it was a fun half hour.

They'd have listened to Fluttershy in the first place, she wouldn't have been vampire cursed or whatever... And since it could turn out to be an ongoing thing... Rainbow Dash was weird in this one - she seemed to have more of a one track mind and be less useful than even Pinkie, which is just bizarre given her characterization the past couple of seasons has pretty much exclusively been, "Idiot comic relief." Though really one of my main issues with the episode was everypony's characterizations seemed pretty flat and one-note in the first half. I'll probably rewatch it later, though.
Back to Pinkie, I really hope they undo a bit of that with her character in this season. She's really not even recognizably the same character as she used to be most of the time.
