It helps now that she's a real pony and not a fictional character.

About the whole Vampire Fruit Bats on the Western orchard thing, I could imagine having been fruit-battified, Fluttershy learned faster than it was possible before to learn their language and managed to pursuade them.

Nah, they obviously drink the blood of mammals but are not that noticiable since they are significantly smaller than their fruit relatives.

8/10
I would laugh if Fluttershy's fang grew into a key at some point.
Also, since this a song episode, this ever so makes me believe we know which episodes are going to have musical numbers.

I am hereby declaring defeat on my assumption that all those numbers also indicate episodes that deal with the season-long arc since "Bats!" didn't have anything that points to the season-long arc (I need more than that mini-cliffhanger to declare it as such).
But I hope next week will have something to do with it since it touches on Rarity's generosity (maybe the first key will appear?)

Seems to be a lot of songs bunched together there... seven in ten episodes, then none for the next six.

You know, while I loved the way the episode turned out, there are two other angles I would have liked to see as well... 1.) Flutterbat biting almost everypony except Applejack and having them turned into Vampire Fruit Ponies as well (solely that i want to see how they would have looked vampirified) 2.) That the spell causes other problems as well. Because they are turned off from apples, they go to another orchard (let's say Doctor Whoof's Pear Plains) causing the same problems. Twilight goes there as well with help from Fluttershy and gets them off pears as well. The same process repeats over and over until every orchard is safe. But after a while, Fluttershy discovers that the bats have been brought off from every fruit there is and they are starving, leading her to stand up to Applejack to get the spell off of them. But Applejack stays stubborn...

True dat.
I thought the whole "starving" thing might be too dark for MLP but then I remembered them having no problem showing a skinny Lily for comedic effect in "Hearts And Hooves Day", so that should have been no prob.

Well, the Mane 6 are all covered as of 8 hours ago... As a bonus, Rarity somehow becomes alicorn.

Vampire Fruit Bat Ponies to be exactly. Not that they want to eat other ponies.

How would that be Swarm Of The Century again? Its not like the fruit bats are not intelligent beings and they are multiplying like crazy.
