I've been playing a marathon of Zelda games since around September starting with LOZ for the NES and working my way thru the majority of the games in the order they were released and I got to wondering which are your favorite and least fav Zelda games?
I'd say my favorite is Wind Waker and least favorite is Link's Awakening.

It's hard to pick a favorite.
Adventures of Ling and Ocarina of Time are probably my favorite.
Least Favorite is Skyward Sword until I give it a serious play through. I played it for 15 minutes and I was a miserable grump because of the motion controls.

Favorite: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link Least: I can't really say. I do like the first Zelda and the SNES. I haven't played the N64, Gamecube or Wii versions though.

Favorite? Oh, there are so many, I can't decide.
Least favorite? Skyward Sword GOD THAT GAME WAS SO F***ING TERRIBLE I HATE IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...uh, yeah. I wasn't a huge fan of Skyward Sword. Other than that...I'd honestly say the only other "bad" one was Zelda 2, and I've only played that game once when I was like 7, so I can't really give a fair opinion there.

Favorite: The original
Least favorite: Skyward Sword...the only Zelda that was so underwhelming, that I never completed it.
*For the record, I loved Zelda 2 and don't consider it THAT hard*

Favorite: Twilight Princess or Majora's Mask, picking what's better between the two is like picking children. Twilight Princess I felt like was a Zelda game perfected. Amazing story, some of the best temples in history and overall just an amazing game. I can't say there's another game I played that I felt bummed out after 100%ing, knowing it was over. On the other side, Majora's Mask holds a magical part in my heart. It's unlike any game I've ever played and likely ever will. I really feel like MM was the Zelda game that open me up to show that a video game can be something magical and amazing. For me it's the argument of what's better, overall game play or substance and emotion?
Least favorite: Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, and then I would put Links Awakening just above that but not by much.
I will also say that Zelda II doesn't deserve the flack it gets. If it was not linked to Zelda in anyway and was it's own independent game, we would talk about how legendary that game was. IT gets hated because it was off the heels of Zelda 1 and.... it's not Zelda 1, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Just my 2 cents on Zelda II.

Favorite: Maybe Minish Cap, but Wind Waker, Link to the Past, Twilight Princess, and a lot of them are just hard to rank.
Least Favorite: Possibly the first one or Link's Awakening. I have never played the second LoZ, so I don't know how I'd really like that, but Awakening and the original are just not as good as a lot of the later games. They are not bad, and I respect the effort that went into them, but Link's Awakening is mostly remembered by me for the hilarious glitches.

I'd say my problem with the later games starting with Link to the Past, is they're too f***ing easy. On top of that, the linear style of the game makes it less fun during every subsequent playthrough. One of the challenges I enjoy is going back to the original and changing the route up or seeing how far I can get before dying. I got to Dungeon 6 (technically 7, but I skipped 6 originally) before dying. f***ing Wizrobes.
While I've played through Ocarina of Time several times...it's incredibly simple. The only hard part is scoring 1500 points in the archery section. Even the Master Quest was disappointingly easy. At least Majora's Mask presents the time challenge, which is why it's probably my second favorite.

I've played LttP, OoT, MM, WW, and TP, and Twilight Princess is the only one I didn't get far in cause I hated the werewolf parts and that girl that treats you like an idiot.

Now, I see that opinion flying around these days, and I have to disagree. It isn't just that it's a bad Zelda game. It's a little too difficult, and a lot too directionless. Not bad? Yeah, maybe. Legendary? God, no. If it wasn't a Zelda game, it would just be another decent-at-best hidden gem in the mountain of random NES games.

I can never decide on which Zelda game is my favorite. I want to say Majora's Mask, but I've been playing the HD version of Windwaker and that game is magnificent, especially due to the swift sail and the shortened Triforce collecting bit.
My least favorite is most definitely Skyward Sword. I saw so many great reviews and perfect scores saying it was the best game since Ocarina of Time, but in my opinion that game is just a chore to get through. From the forgettable characters and music to the constant reminder of what an amber relic is, I really had to force myself to finish it. I did, however, like a few of the bosses including the final boss.

I remember playing Twilight Princess for the first time and hearing from others about how difficult the Cave of Ordeals was. So I stocked up on every available weapon, armor, etc, took it very methodically by trying to kill as many enemies as possible before jumping down from the ledges, investigating the floor for secrets on every single level... And cleared it on my first try with about half of my health and ammo left.

I'm legitimately surprised to see so much dislike for Skyward Sword. Man, I loved that game.
As for favorites...it's really hard for me to pick just one; A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Link's Awakening, and Wind Waker...those are my absolute favorites.
My least favorite is probably The Adventure of Link...but even that game is pretty goddamn good.

The only "challenges" to me was getting the frog lure and secondly; catching the damn Loach, and that's because it's time consuming and becomes an annoying button masher. As far as the Cave of Ordeals...yeah it's pretty easy. I actually went through there several times without any health items, so I could fill all my bottles with fairy tears. The Cave of Ordeals has nothing on some of the dungeons from the first 2 games.

Skyward Sword managed to do the unthinkable and produce a guide character that was even more annoying than Navi.

Favorites: Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Minish Cap and A Link Between Worlds.
Least: Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword and Spirit Tracks.
Wind Waker might be added to my favorites soon since I got it for Wii U and never played it before.
TP is my my least favorites list for how dark it is and I wasn't into the wolf transformation. Skyward Sword just felt like it moved too slow early on in the game and I got bored with it quickly.

My favorites are Majora's Mask and Wind Waker. Honorable mentions go to Ocarina of Time, Minish Cap, and Link Between Worlds.
Skyward Sword, meanwhile, is complete shit.
Then there's Twilight Princess... I like it, though it does have a lot of flaws, but a lot of little things in it if they were in a shorter, more consistent game would make it absolutely amazing. Especially the Arbiter's Grounds, that's one of my favorite dungeons ever.

I really don't have a favorite... I really like pretty much all of them...though least favorite is definitely Majora's Mask. Don't know why... I just never could get into it. As for Skyward sword I only disliked the imprisoned fight that's repeated like 3 times... and didn't find Fi that annoying... certainly no where near the level of Navi. edit: Also well the CDI games but they don't count because of just how bad they were
