Favourite - Link's Awakening. Still one of the best stories in games, it's free of many of the tropes of the series, the overworld is one of my favourites, you're not stuck using a sword and shield for the whole game and the offbeat twin peaks inspired atmosphere is great and allows for some genuinely funny lines. Back then it was also and amazing technical achievement to be able to make that game for the GB. I'm saddened to see it on least favourite lists.
Least: Your favourite Zelda! Oh and the G&W title.

Favorite is a tie between the SNES one and Link's awakening
Least favorite is any of the ones that came after those two. Zelda to me didn't translate well into 3d.

For the people who hate Link Awaking....did you only play the original version or have you never play the DX version of it?

Favourite: Link to the past,Ocarina of Time and the Wind Waker.
As for the least I recently played the first one and while it did indeed create the blueprint for the entire series its still hard to overlook the stiff controls and how finding things is pretty much trail and error based which gets annoying after a while.

Favorites: Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Minish Cap and A Link Between Worlds. Least: Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword and Spirit Tracks. Wind Waker might be added to my favorites soon since I got it for Wii U and never played it before. TP is my my least favorites list for how dark it is and I wasn't into the wolf transformation. Skyward Sword just felt like it moved too slow early on in the game and I got bored with it quickly. I like Twilight Princess, but I do think it does pale in comparison to a lot of the games before it (though it's still way better than any of the games since except Link Between Worlds). I think the main things that would have improved it would be making it way shorter, and trimming a lot of the fat - the world could've been half the size and really lost nothing, and there are all kinds of cases (like having to catch a certain fish to go to Snowhead) of things just there to bring the game to a halt and stall you before the next dungeon. Also it needed better dungeons in the first half - they get pretty awesome at the Arbiter's Grounds (though I didn't like City in the Sky), but the first three are pretty damn bad. Really, in general they need to stop making the games so long and bloated. Mostly because they don't seem to know how to do it without having tons of filler and side content (see Skyward Sword making you backtrack like f***ing mad, including through previous dungeons), but also just because the Zelda series is generally at its best as a pick it up, rush through it, and replay it six months later kind of thing, which most recent games (again, besides Link Between Worlds) seem to be opposed to.

Favourite: Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask. Hard to pick between the two. Ocarina of Time felt so epic playing it back in the day and it's got great dungeons. Majora's Mask just has such a brilliant atmosphere, the time travel mechanic works great for me and it had some of the best side quests in video games.
Least Favourite: Phantom Hourglass. Constantly having to go back to that one temple was very boring and repetitive to me and gameplay-wise I just wasn't feeling it. I never finished it. I haven't played Skyward Sword but my brother has it and nothing about it looks appealing to me at all. How's Link Between Worlds?

How's Link Between Worlds? I'd say it's the best in the series or at least top 3. It's phenomenal.

Best: I really liked Majora's Mask a lot. The time travelling thing was so unique to how it was done in other games. It also had a heap of fun characters, and a memorable villain who wasn't just another generic version of Ganon. Plus the soundtrack was pretty neat too.
Worst: Skyward Bored.

How's Link Between Worlds? It's definitely worth giving a look, best Zelda game in years. It does have its flaws, mostly in this weird thing where the early dungeons are longer and probably more memorable than the later ones (like, off the top of my head, outside of the boss I cannot remember a thing about the Dark Palace, and I don't remember the boss of Turtle Rock at all), but it is a lot of fun, with a lot of depth to it and the system to rent items works out surprisingly well. The game is pretty pitifully easy though, outside of the ludicrously overpowered but fortunately very rare centaurs, though I guess that's what Hero Mode is for. Still, I can definitely live with that, and it helps that the game doesn't feel the need to bog you down with plot like a lot of the recent ones - it has a solid story (it's pretty predictable, but what Zelda game isn't?), but it mostly just lays the groundwork for it then thankfully shuts up and lets you play the game just showing you snippets of it where it's appropriate to.

Never played a handheld Zelda, so I won't include those.
Ocarina of Time might be my favourite game ever, so I'd say that would be my favourite.
I found Zelda II frustratingly difficult.

I only actually played 3 of them. I like The Legend Of Zelda and A Link To The Past. I hated Zelda II: The Adventure Of Link.
I'll leave the actual "Zelda" rankings to my daughter. She loves those games (and Sonic games too), so any time I have a chance, I buy her one. This year, I bought her the new 3DS game.

I'm honestly kind of surprised to see all the hate for Skyward Sword in here. It's in my top 5 somewhere for sure, I loved it.
I'll post my favorites and least favorites later.
