I'm moving my post about food in here to cut down on clutter.
What's on the menu for Christmas food this year FAN? As someone of Italian, Polish, & German descent, I associate holidays with food. Traditionaly we have Polish & Italian food on Christmas Eve & homemade pizzas on Christmas Day. This year it's different, because our plans are different. The wife & I are staying home tonight, my parents & brother are coming over for breakfast tomorrow, & we're all going back to their house for lunch & dinner. Anyway, on with the menu:
Christmas Eve: Homemade calzones. Pepperoni for myself, mushrooms for the wife. Pasta salad
Cinnamon rolls brownies for desert
Christmas Day breakfast: Apple cinnamon pancakes Bacon Cheesy hash browns & crumbled sausage casserole Fresh fruit Coffee cake
Christmas Day lunch: Vegetable platter Lunch meat platter for sandwiches Maybe more, but not sure
Christmas Day dinner: Homemade pizza Probably more, but not sure Candy cane pie for dessert
How 'bout you FAN? What's on the menu?

I also have a second question:
When do you open gifts? The wife & I will open ours from each other tonight. Tomorrow morning, we'll exchange gifts with my parents, & when we get to their house my nephew will open the gifts we got him. This is only his second Christmas, so it's still pretty much baby(ish) toys, & books/coloring books.
When do you open gifts FAN?

Gotta admit, I love Christmas so much, right now I have those mixed, bittersweet emotions. Where I'm glad it's Christmas (Eve, right now)...... but I know it'll be over soon and then will have to wait another year for this feeling again.
I guess it's a little that it doesn't seem as special anymore since my family has moved so far apart, we don't get together anymore so it's just me, my fiancee, and our son. I guess the upside is getting to watch him open his presents from us, so I'm looking forward to that.
I dunno, I have no complaints, just feeling that combination of excitement and melancholy.

What's on the menu? My family's Greek, so we definitely know how to incorporate food into every event. For breakfast, my sister is going to make this dish that's basically an egg & potato casserole. For lunch, the main courses are roast beef and scallops, with potato salad and traditional Greek dishes on the side. For dessert, Greek baked goods, and I think someone's bringing a pie. Speaking of pie, whatever 'candy cane pie' is, it sounds amazing.

(Every Sunday we get together at the house anyway, but we don't gather there until 1-2 PM, so this will be early for us.) Then we open gifts at a feverish pace. After cleaning up the wrapping paper, we watch TV or nap until meal time.

To answer Dazz's questions.
1.) Usually my mom makes an eye-round roast with rice and gravy on Xmas Eve. I don't know if that'll be the same this year. She's been trying to make a new traditional meal for Xmas Eve for years now. I personally love the meal. Xmas Day, we'll usually have a breakfast casserole. As far as Xmas Day dinner is concerned, we usually have nothing. We're too lazy to do anything, haha.
2.) We open everything Xmas morning. Always have, always will. Probably around 10-11AM. Usually it was early as we had to go down to Baltimore to visit relatives. Now, we just have to worry about my brother and his wife showing up whenever.

It's been several years, but before everyone got married & started doing their own thing we'd have the pizzas with other food on Christmas Eve, & a roast on Christmas Day. I want a roast now. And I mean now, as in RIGHT NOW!

Breakfast: Champagne + Triple Sec - Scrambled Eggs and Smoked salmon Main Meal: Wine, Roast Turkey with all the standard trimmings, Chirstmas pudding. Evening: Other drinks, if anyone is still hungry toasted turkey sandwiches and/or Chirstmas cake. Usually open presents at midday, as everyone is awake at this point and dog has been walked/turkey put on. But it's not Christmas just yet
