I was watching It's A Wonderful Life (well bits and pieces, but that's ok since I saw the whole thing last Friday night) and something I've noticed these last couple years is that there's these three little jumps caused by awkward editing of the scene in which Uncle Billy confronts Mr. Potter at the bank. Anyone else notice this? What's the reasoning for this? Is it to shave off some time so it fits a bit easier in its 8-11 timeslot? Or is there something in the scene that would be deemed "offensive" now a days (I haven't seen this scene without the weird edits in years)?

I watched the movie last night and that bugged the hell out of me. Happened in a lot of other scenes to, to me it looked like is just randomly zoomed occasionally with n rhyme or reason.

If you think that's bad you should've seen AMC massacre Pulp Fiction a few weeks back: no cursing, several scenes are missing, deleted scenes and dialogue are added. If I hadn't seen it so many times before I wouldn't have any clue what was going on.

Last night I watched Tommy Boy and it was terribly edit out. Like most of the whole fat guy in little coat. He went from putting on the coat to the ripping. Now signing at all. Most all the scene where tommy was making "masterbation" jokes. They only hat the Yankees. No favorite little rascal or spankovison.

There was one edit during a broadcast that I found odd, but somehow it worked:

I didn't catch it, but is it a letterboxing edit issue, like the pan and scan cuts in the Pulp Fiction diner scene? It's 1.37:1, so it's not *quite* 4:3.
