Seriously why do we have to eat them every Christmas? In my opinion at least they're revolting, I always have to wash it down with a drink because the taste of it literally could make me vomit, can't we have something a bit more pleasant for our tastebuds for Christmas?

I love Brussell sprouts, I'm sick of crap vegetables like peas and Cauliflower holding them down all year around by appearing on every f***ing restaurant menu, I'm glad sprouts get their chance to shine at Christmas but still people moan about having them once a year.
I'm sure the OP had little influence over their xmas meal, however many people do (unlike the aforementioned set menus) and still complain about sprouts, if you don't like them don't cook them! Simple!

Simple! I have no influence what's so ever, I my honest opinion Brussels Sprouts aren't in the same league as carrots, probably my favourite vegetable of all time.

I love brussell sprouts. I believe they're a seasonal vegetable though that grows most during winter, so that's probably why you see them in holiday meals.

I actually did try brussel sprouts back in home ec and I didn't like them at all. I don't like any sprouts, for that matter.

Used to avoid them, but then my mom started roasting them with diced potatoes and bacon and I can't get enough of it.

I made a curry for my family specifically so I didn't have to eat those devils ass pellets.

When cooked right they're... ok. They never really stuck out as anything special, but they don't really deserve their reputation as the disgusting terror veggie they have.

They taste and smell bad, don't even want to be in the same room with them.

How are you eating them? Because as others have said, boiled is not the way to go. Either cooked over the range or roast, but you want them to caramelize a bit.

Never tried them until this past Thanksgiving when my aunt brought over a tray of them...I can't remember for the life of me how she made them, but they came out pretty damn nice.
I prefer asparagus (especially with a light dusting of bread crumbs, a little mozzarella, and olive oil) or kale used in stuffing, but that really wasn't bad at all.

I like them usually but if they are not cooked right they can be really horrid.
