What are the career best performances from people who otherwise do terrible work?

Megan Fox was actually decent in "How To Lose Friends And Alienate People", but she was also basically playing herself, or how she is largely perceived.

he's not a bad actor so much as lazy, but Tom Cruise was great in Collateral and Tropic Thunder.

She's wrongly perceived as a bad actress, but Kristen Stewart has done loads of great work.

Leonardo DiCaprio in Catch Me if you Can *ducks* He's better in Wolf of Wall Street. Mark Walhberg in The Departed I don't think he's anything special in Departed, he's basically just playing an amped up version of himself. He was great in Boogie Nights though, and I suppose that'd work for me.

he's not a bad actor so much as lazy, but Tom Cruise was great in Collateral and Tropic Thunder. Knight and Day was one of those flicks that had no right being as good as it was, in large part to Cruise who normally is only good for running shots.

Megan Fox was actually decent in "How To Lose Friends And Alienate People", but she was also basically playing herself, or how she is largely perceived. Megan was good in Jennifer's Body too, I think she may have a problem being in roles that don't want much from her. She needs to get away from Michael Bay style productions.
