HHH by a mile. Sure he's been on top longer than he should, went over when he often shouldn't but streets ahead of Edge. I never got Edge as a main event level talent. He always seemed like an over-elevated midcarder. Like if he remained in the midcard he'd have been awesome but the push to the main event didn't really do it for me.
Despite the nepotism criticism, in his day having HHH in a main event was kind of a deal. With Edge it kind of...wasn't. For me anyway.

I don't even like HHH, but HHH is a better performer than Edge. They're both comparable wrestlers (i.e, just a little above mediocre) but HHH was better at selling a match and living out the story. Both cut 7/10 level promos. I'd give HHH the edge on promos as I think he was more convincing, as a heel, than Edge was. When HHH said "I'm gonna kick your ass" there's an air of intimidation that Edge with his big teeth, blue eyes and long blond hair, simply didn't have. Not as a heel anyway and as a babyface it's very hard for anyone not to be generic fan-favourte. You're right about HHH's ability to sell a match better, even if it's slower and more basic than Edge could deliver.

Edge, on the other hand, may not have been as heavily pushed, but he owns Hunner in the ring. Even better than was Hunter during 99-00'? Sure, HHH was pretty damn good around that time, but I stand by my opinion.

Love them both, but I bow to the King Of Kings. Even when he wasn't fully on his game and struggled through that bloated body period, he could draw legit heel heat.

This comparison actually makes sense to me, because they feel like they're on about the same level as performers. And HHH probably would've spent his career at around Edge's spot if not for his friends in high places.
Overall, I'd give this one to Edge. We've got two different gimmick PPVs that exist primarily because Edge made their signature matches into big deals. I don't think Hunter's contributed anything to the onscreen product as significant, other than self-fellatio.

I enjoyed Edge 9/10 matches, I enjoy HHH 1/10 matches.

Triple H for me.
It's really close but H just comes off like a bigger deal in matches.

I feel kinda strange giving this to Triple H because he had about 16 months of really good work over a decade ago. Can Triple H sell a big match? Ehhh...I dunno. I think it's overstated that he can.
He's got the most resources at his disposal to do so, that's why for ages it seemed like the one way to get people hype about a match involving Hunner involved people beating the shit out of Shawn Michaels on a whim. I mean, who wouldn't be able to sell a match if you too could mash on the HBK assist so he could take a bullet from Brock Lesnar? Who wouldn't be able to eventually strike gold during a promo if you're given a practically uninterrupted opening segment to say whatever you want (within reason), multiple segments throughout the show to put over your angle and you'll even be involved in the main event segment?
And have that be such a repeated occurrence to the point it's a running gag?
I mean, the question could be how the hell can't Hunner sell a big match when the entire machine is behind him more often than not?
I just got to give it to Edge on principle. Then too...Edge actually got people to boo him when he went against John Cena. Oh yeah, Edge also doesn't have a racist angle with Booker either. Nope, Hunner is never going to live that down.

Edge, the guy was more entertaining in the ring and as a character than HHH ever was. Edge reached the level HHH should have been at, the guy who works with the person that draws money, the arch nemesis and transitional champion.

Edge was able to fill more roles (Tat team comedy guy, despised heel, babyface, coward, whatever). Triple H did one character (smart-ass, badass, better than you) and did it well, but being able to do many things at near main event or main event level as opposed to one gimmick that required you to e the focal point, and the gimmick fell apart if you weren't speaks volumes.
