Is it just me or does the system seem slightly harsh, you get no lawyer, no jury, no time to build up a case of your crimes, nope all you get is one of the Spandex Squad (my new nickname for any Power Rangers group) saying if you're guilty or not, at least Cat Manx was fairly decent and Kruger was an okay mentor figure.

I assume all the criminals already had mountains of evidence against them, and they all resisted arrest and assaulted police officers, plus do you really need a jury when somebody destroyed half the city abandoned warehouse district with a giant robot?

That is the thing that I have always wondered in every Power Ranger Series if they are constantly destroying the warehouse and most of them are abandoned why do you keep rebuilding them

Well how much of a defence can a lawyer put up against a rampaging monster? I mean half the city under their giant foot is pretty comdeming evidence.
But this is where TimeForce improved atleast Ransik got put on trial first.

On the subject of the villains, I thought that they would've had some human villains because the whole SPD universe had aliens and humans co-existing.

You mean the whole arresting violent criminals that already had a record? A lot of the minor monsters were either monsters summoned by Moira or mercenaries and criminals hired by Broodwing.

Was I the only one who really liked how they didn't use or need secret identities during that season ?

Wasn't that the whole point of hte thing they used to arrest people to basically be an impartial jury?
which is why it flashed guilty?
Thats what I always got from it.... they should have had it show not guilty at least once to prove it though.
But as stated most of what they were up against were caught in the act of destroying property... and most were criminals to begin with

I just assume Angel Grove has THAT MANY abandoned buildings.

In Dekaranger they explained how that the judgement device was used to call upon "The highest court in the universe" and their judgement is swift and decisive, of course there they flat out executed the criminals whereas in SPD they just captured them.
I guess Disney felt a little uneasy about a police organization (albeit a fictional one) straight up killing perps.

SPD is my favorite season of Power Rangers. I had watched the first two seasons years ago. Then ABC family was showing an hour of Power rangers each morning. I would get home from work watch Saved by the bell then SPD. And I got hooked on SPD. Even made it a point to record each episode. I need to track down the Japanese version. The only Japanese Sentai show I have watched was Magi-Rangers. Which became Power Rangers Mystic Force over here.

I know there are tons of theories about it but SKYS father wearing the red time force uniform still makes me wonder if TimeForce exsisted before SPD or whether SPD was just a division of TimeForce.
Either way TimeForce was efficent as hell with being able to remove every single criminal except Ransik.

Yeah you should seek out Dekaranger if you can, because it was one of the better modern era Sentai shows out there. Although you'll notice a lot of the plots are more than familiar because SPD pretty much closely adapted a lot of Dekaranger's story lines. The only key difference is that Dekaranger was mostly a standalone villain of the week style show, whereas SPD had a central big bad that was exclusive to the American version. (Or you could have it both ways and watch the Japanese dub of SPD)

Is there any possible way we could turn this into an all encompassing Power Rangers/Super Sentai thread?
I ask because I've only seen a bit of SPD, and what I've seen I've really dug, but lately I've been watching the newest Sentai, Kyotyuger, and I absolutely love it, but I don't wanna make a new thread.
So, if that's cool, if love to hear other thoughts on it, but if you'd rather keep it seperate, let me know and I'll gladly make a new thread.
