A very positive review from Digibrony (although he hits on one jarring low note)... The thing is, I don't think he's wrong about it. It is a pretty valid point that Twilight being a Princess is being utterly glossed over, and this is one of those times where it probably should have been taken into account. Have we even seen Twilight fly outside of the premiere this season? Don't get me wrong, I stand by what I said about it being nice that they didn't make this the "Twilight and Friends Variety Hour", but this is getting ridiculous. I mean... I kind of get not knowing who they were as the Elements of Harmony (though it even stretched belief a little bit with "Sweet and Elite", considering they had a damn ceremony for saving Equestria in Canterlot), but Twilight is an alicorn and the newest Princess. This shit should have been realm-shaking news. Alicorns aren't that bloody common (outside of potential animation errors). It doesn't need to drive every episode of the show, but it does, however, need to actually be brought up and shown as a thing that has changed Twilight even remotely at some point outside of a premiere/finale, otherwise what was the point? |

The Princess Twilight being ignored thing I'm going to chalk up to these eps being written before Magical Mystery Cure was, kind of like how Magic Duel was originally a season 2 ep. I'm sure that later in the season it will mean more.
And Twilight has flown in both Castle-mania and Power Ponies.

Not that it isn't weird that Twilight's princesshood does not get addressed much...but was this not the first instance where she was even in a position that her princesshood might have meant somthing?
I mean, the episodes before did not have any situation where her princesshood might have turned the favor in their corner. So, I would count this as the first time she could have done something with it.
