Actually I didn't choose to take it, in my college you need a C grade to stop doing maths and I haven't achieved that yet, however I didn't have to do English because I already passed it. Ah, got ya. I thought you meant you'd gone on to do it at A-Level. I was in your shoes as well, 2 marks under the C first time around, when it came back around I got a B, which I was exceedingly proud of. Congrats on that, I doubt I'll get a B, I'd love to, but I'm just aiming to pass so I don't have to do it again (or at least for a while)

I'm not good at advanced math (college algebra was the only class in my entire life I failed), but I actually like Math a lot. Conquering arithmetic is actually a big goal of mine I plan on tackling soon.

I'd say I'm bad with math but that would imply there was anything I actually am good for.

I hate math. I know it's necessary in life and I do know math but I hate it all the same.

I made A's and B's in it, I just wasn't interested in it. I took all the upper level stuff in high school, but only one course in college freshman year.
I'd REALLY have to be given a refresher now on upper algebra stuff, some seventeen years post high school.

I hate how you people call it "Maths" To be fair, that is the grammatically correct way to say it. Calling it Math is like saying the technical word for the class is "Mathematic" instead of Mathematics. It seems to be more of a European thing, but yeah, "Maths" is the correct way of saying it. But that isn't the reason people spell it that way.

It was my absolute worst subject in school. Today, I only really use it for money matters, and that's just addition and subtraction. The funny thing is that my favorite sport is baseball, and that's probably the most math-intensive.

While History is my best subject, I was a pretty good well-rounded student overall in High School and in College. I can say, with humility, that I am gifted in certain areas.
Not Math.
Math is my Achilles Heel. I'm not even good at basic Math. I have no aptitude for it--no interest in it--and I never developed a good understanding of anything beyond basic Math. I did decent with practical, useful Math--but there's very little of that. Most of the time Math made very little sense to me.
I made mostly As and a few Bs in College. Except for the one mandatory Math class. I made a D in that--after a lot of hard work.
That was good enough for me. Bah.

No surprise that on a wrestling forum--where abstract thinkers are going to be plentiful--math is the hated subject.
I'm not very good with it either. Technically I pulled a B-average in AP Math but compared to my other grades, it was by far my weakest subject. It's just so rigid, so concrete. I always find an alternate path to doing something (and seldom intentionally) which is an excellent asset in history (my field of study), literature, politics and public discourse, my areas of expertise. But math, by its very nature, cannot allow for the existence of two answers to the same question. You MUST do something a certain way.
Which is why I never understood why advanced math is supposed to be done by hand if you can just do it by a programmed calculator. But it's not like carpentry, or metalworking, or construction. You can't make the same product better. The number 385 is always 385, no matter how you get there, or how you write it.

I have always sucked at match, to this day I cannot do more than basic addition and subtraction in my head. I failed college algebra four times and literally burned the textbook the day I barely squeaked past on the fourth try. I remember arguing with another guy once about how much I hate math and, of course, he told me about how we use math every day, and I replied that "the kind of math I use on a regular basis is the kind I can do on my fingers"!

Math and foreign language.
There's literally nothing "interesting" there, until you get to the advanced stuff. I guess the same can be said for any subject, but considering most people don't start foreign language until middle school, and advanced math is the equivalent of a foreign language to basic math (English).

I have a B.A. in History, so yeah I suck at math. When I was filling out my first semester's schedule at some orientation thing. They divided us up by which majors housed their departments, so History, Political Science, English, and Art went to one building and one of the history professors (who I would have twice as a teacher) looked at my schedule sheet when this exchange happened,
Professor: History major?
Me: Yeah, how'd you know?
Professor: I saw that you're taking "General Math". History majors are genetically predisposed to suck at math.
