Amazing cats still have that fearsome territorial instinct whether they're a housecat or a jaguar

The part I love best is the people moaning about how the gator will eat the cat...yet not one of them steps outside to prevent it.

Am I the only one that feels bad for the alligator? He wasn't doing anything to deserve that.

I mean, I wouldn't go out there and try to chase it away, but I'd find something to throw before the cat started approaching it. I would've at lease tried to scare the cat away but at least it turned out alright.

Crocodilians avoid fights at the surface if they can help it. Outside of the water, you are fairly safe from a crocodile or alligator. Closer to the water, this cat would not be so fortunate, but the cat would also probably not be so bold as to try anything like this when circumstances were not in its favor as they were here.

Yes ofcourse.. It's ok when the Cat attacks the Alligator But ofcourse if it were the other way around now everybody would be saying it's horrible and than it's a tragedy

Closer to the water, this cat would not be so fortunate, but the cat would also probably not be so bold as to try anything like this when circumstances were not in its favor as they were here. Yep... it makes sense that two predators would approach each other with a pretty good idea of what each of them could do without getting hurt. I don't think the cat would've done that if it didn't think that a) the gator was sufficiently less agile on the ground, and b) that the cat itself was fast enough to get away if things went sour. Obviously a housecat isn't going to kill a gator, but even a big predator loses a significant advantage in future hunts and fights if it lets some little carnivore claw its eye out.
