When anyone asks 'why isn't Miz in the main event anymore?', this segment should be posted everytime. Brodus Clay, who has been jerked around with failed bodyguard pushes, a severely delayed debut and then a dancing gimmick, knocked his promo out of the park with a real sense of passion and energy - whilst Miz just stood there looking like a chump, and then proceeded to awkwardly blurt out some one-liners that even an eight year old would find immature. Before you say it, no, you can't make any comparisons to John Cena because the crowd actually cares about Cena. Miz sucks because he did his job and didn't try to get himself over at someone else's expense. Got it. That's not the point. If Brodus had been cutting that promo at someone like Cena or Punk atleast you would have the sense to think that they could come up with something more interesting than spurting out 'really, really?' and then some extremely cringe-worthy one liner at the end in a vain attempt at thinking he'd 'won' that exchange. Miz came out of that segment looking like a goof who couldn't counter any of Brodus' points. And not in a 'well, Brodus has me stumped on this one' way but in a 'Brodus just completely obliterated and outclassed me' way.

That was the best mic work I've seen him do. It's a shame he's not very good everywhere else.
Miz TV as a tweener, face, or whatever doesn't really work. I was on-board and calling him for him to be a face, but eh, I and others were wrong there; Miz is just so easily hateable, he needs to just be a douche.

Let's be fair, that segment had virtually nothing to do with the Miz outside of being a host. You could've plugged anyone in any talk show segment in there and it would've been the deal, as that was just the contrivance for Brodus to get promo time to further a feud with Tensai. Miz wasn't supposed to be doing any verbal sparring or 'winning' any exchange. He was just the medium to further the Brodus angle. If he had been trying to comeback or one up Brodus, it would've run completely counter to what that segment was designed to do.

That was the best mic work I've seen him do. Have you seen his NXT leaving promo? I felt that was slightly better than this. But yeah, the guy's a natural talker. Surprising that they haven't had him do more of it. Usually if someone's a great talker but not such a great wrestler, they'll utilise one to counteract the other, and vice versa.

Nah, I haven't watched NXT since it was on tv.

Great promo but I wonder where he goes from here. The brawl with Tensai looked awful and I can't imagine the match between the two will be much better. Unless they do something like debut a couple of new guys as his new posse....

Err... why was this on Main Event? Outside of it being Miz TV, which is hardly ever good, Brodus was awesome. I hope he gets to rehash this on Monday. Just replay the promo, lead it into a segment or match where Brodus looks beastly, and the era of the Ex-Fumkasaurus can begin. Here's a pre-cooked, piping hot angle, WWE. Now do something with it.

I can't blame Miz for getting one-upped in terms of content, because the segment is scripted how it's scripted. But when he did talk, his delivery was terrible. Miz has got to be the worst talker that actually gets a microphone on a regular basis in the company. He can barely get through a sentence without tripping over himself. Its like he's panicking and just trying to make it to the point hwere he says "rrrealy", and then maybe a one-liner later on. Brodus definitely made him look bad from that standpoint.

I'm glad Brodus got this chance, as I think he can make the most of it. I also think Tensai is a good opponent for him because I think he's one of those veterans who can put over guys huge. Remember his matches a while back with Sheamus? Those were great hard hitting matchups.
Basically, I think WWE needs to take a Paul E. route with talent. Of course there are people like Cena and Orton and Punk that are the complete package when it comes to in ring work and character. However, Brodus clearly has charisma and can cut a promo. He is not a ring general, but he doesn't have to be. I remember watching Money in The Bank 2011 when Big Show and Mark Henry had a match. I thought it was going to be terrible, and it ended up being a fantastic power brawl between too guys that are limited in the ring as well, but it worked, and it was only like eight minutes long. Booked properly this Brodus heel turn could work wonders and push him up the card.
He's something different. Don't get me wrong, I love me my Punk, Bryan, Shield, and Cesaro matches, but I think there is room for Brodus at or near the top of the card, especially if that promo is any indication of how comfortable he is on the mic.

Very good work.
Brodus Clay has always impressed me by his presence. All he needs to do is fine tune his work in the ring.
I found the brawl between Tensai and Brodus to be quite adorable for some reason..

I wish Jericho was still around to host the Highlight Reel because this would have fit way better on a show like that instead of "Miz TV." The Miz really is like a second rate Jericho in most aspects.

That was supposed to be his heel turn, right?
Um, yeah, that's not gonna be easy to explain, since he's justified in his actions.

If Cena or Punk had been in that segment, they'd just make some unnecessary smarky comments and you'd complain that they "buried" Brodus. If one of those guys were involved, Brodus would've been the one "obliterated and outclassed" which would defeat the whole purpose of the segment.

The Miz is the only one I would've accepted the 'called yo mama and Xavier was there' burn from, from Cena it would be unnecessarily douche-y, and from Punk it seems too beneath him to make a 'yo mama' pipebomb when Brodus' lackluster in-ring skills would be a bigger target for the #BITW. So in other words The Miz is the perfect douche interviewer to pull that impassioned response outta Brodus since I also recall him doing another 'yo mama' burn on Orton or somebody a few months back (complete with the self-congratulatory 'ohhhhh!' that makes it Vintage Douche).

It was Punk, and if anything that segment might have been what started turning a lot of people off of face Miz.

Wow good job Brodus! I thought this guy was a total looser, and he just proved me wrong. Too bad that kind of things would never happen on Raw.

That was one of the better promos I've heard in a while. It's a shame that WWE kept this guy locked up for some reason even though his mic skills are good.
