I'm gonna wait until Kyoryuger's finished before I dive into that, but even then I'm tempted to just go right to the vs Go-Busters movie for the all-Dino teamup.
Finished Kamen Rider Black last night. It improves a hell of a lot around episode 34/35 when Shadow Moon appears, but there's a lot of filler/monster of the week stuff until then. Maybe that's just Showa-era Rider or something. Started Gaim today, 4 episodes in, and really enjoying the fruity samurai action more than I thought!

Allow me to sing you the song of my people:
I FREAKING LOVE GARO SO MUCH. If ever you're wanting a Toku show aimed at an adult audience, this is it. Darker, grittier (also not opposed to occasional nudity), insane monster designs, great action and drama, Garo has it all. I got into this last year, wanting a break from the sentai, having binged on Zyuranger, Gokaiger and Dairanger in the space of a few weeks, and just fell in love with it. In fact, the things I'm looking forward to most this year are Garo-related. The fourth series "Makai No Hana", (which is also the second to feature a new protagonist as Garo after last year's "Yami Wo Terasu Mono") and the spin-off series "ZERO: Black Blood", a six-part miniseries based on the further adventures of Rei Suzumura, aka my namesake, Zero:
Although it's not from Toei, there are a few familiar faces throughout Garo's different incarnations. For a start, it's mainly the brainchild of Keita Amemiya, who is a noted director & designer on various Sentai & Rider shows. Ray Fujita (Rei/Zero) was previously Kitazaki in Kamen Rider Faiz, and fans of Gokaiger may want to check out "Yami Wo Terasu Mono" as Junya Ikeda, aka Gai/Gokai Silver features in it as Takeru/Zen. That one's actually not a bad jumping-on point anyway, as it mostly did away with the first two seasons' continuity, set in the future with a new Garo.

So Gai's missing, but there's still six? Isn't one of them Basco's actor? I think I heard something about this, and it mentioned he was there at this little get together...

IPPITSU SOUJOU!
Started watching Shinkenger this week. About 7 episodes in, and I'm really enjoying it. Digging the action and designs of the Gedoushu especially. Was Shitari based on Cthulhu or something? I always got that vibe off him watching footage of him in Power Rangers Samurai.
Unfortunately I kinda already know what Zuboshimeshi was getting at in Act 6 when he calls Takeru a "liar". I really wish I didn't, as it kinda spoils something later on, but I'm enjoying the ride so far.

Trying to figure out which show to watch next. I'm thinking Goseiger, just because I love the designs, but I'm not sure. And I wanna get at least a few classic series under my belt before I delve into Gokaiger.

As for classic series...I would reccomend definetly starting with the following. Kakuranger DaiRanger JetMan Sun Vulcan

Love the old school 60s/70s stuff (Spectreman, Mirror Mask, Ultraman, Space Giants) but never really got into any of the later stuff.

And I wanna get at least a few classic series under my belt before I delve into Gokaiger. I've considered giving Goseiger a go, but I've heard some people say it's a bit dull. I liked the villain designs when I saw them in Power Rangers Megaforce though, and would love to know what they skipped over to whittle it down into a 20-episode season of Power Rangers. Gokaiger is a great show anyway, but I think knowing some of the older shows beforehand definitely enhances the enjoyment of it. Not just because of cameos, but the tribute episodes often serve as epilogues for the original shows or reference iconic moments. I had only seen Zyuranger before hand, which sadly didn't get a full-on tribute, but was still a part of the series. I know I've already talked it up in here, but this week's "Geek Crash Course" does a better job at bigging up Garo than I ever could:

I've been watching that series as a "research project" on what America edited over for PR, and well, it's been interesting to say the least.

Just Started watching Kyoruger (it's the first Sentai I'm going to try and watch all the way through), and I pray to God that they keep that little Morphing dance in the American Version.

One would hope they keep the Samba Morph but I personally doubt it because it fits in Kyoruger and their whole "HARMONY" schtick. unless Saban keeps that then I seeing him just doing some plain morph when that season rolls around.

I love that the rangers are dicks to people in the sentai verse especially if one is going from power rangers to sentai it is almost a relief to see them acting like actual people that have their moments of being just assholes.
The only one who comes close to being sentai like I guess is Eric the Quantum ranger he is an ass from the moment you meet him and he just feels like an actual person and not a trope.

They could just write the protagonists (In the American adaptation) as students at a performing arts school, that could easily explain the samba morphing and other musical references.

I don't trust Saban atleast right now to be able to balance what could potentially be coming off as more a music themed ranger team (which would be interesting to see)with dinosaurs.

Isn't having Gun-based morphers a bigger issue? I've decided to wait until Kyoryuger's complete so I can marathon the whole run at my own pace. Especially this late on. So I'll get to it after I've finished Shinkenger, which I'm just loving. The next episode I'm watching will introduce ShinkenGold to the team. Sixth Ranger intro arcs are always a fun time.
One thing though, if I was Chiaki, I'd be telling the rest of the team to go f**k themselves by now. I really do feel like he gets unfairly treated by the team at times.
