The Over-Time subs for ToQGer came out yesterday. Watched it along with Kamen Rider Gaim #18 this afternoon. I'm not sure about this one. It has some fun stuff in there, and I can see why it is like it is, but perhaps it's that little bit too "kiddy" for me. I kinda like that in spite of this, the twist is that they're all "as good as dead" I'll give it a few more weeks before I make a decision though. Might just marathon another series I've not watched yet though. Gaim is still great, and always seems too short for me. Maybe that's a mark of how much I love it that I want more though. There's been a cool thing the last few weeks of how the gangs of Beat Riders are seen as a menace to the people of Zawame City, and yet Kouta/Gaim is the only one for a while still prepared to fight off the Inves. He really is the "everyman" of the show, an ordinary kid who gets these powers and decides to use them to try and be a hero.
I love how Bravo is a complete badass. Oren Pierre Alfonzo is camp as a row of pink tents, yet is still played as a genuine threat whenever he shows up and transforms into Bravo. I'm also wondering if he is going to end up as the "Big Bad" of the show, rather than Yggdrasil.
And just how many Riders are there gonna be?? This week, was the debut of Armored Rider Knuckle, and we have a new Energy Rider next week, in the form of Duke.

So, ToQger episode 2, anyone?
I don't know what it was, but I enjoyed this more than last week's debut. I think it wasn't quite as OTT, which perhaps made it easier to digest. I've sort of had this thought for a while, but it's surely time for a more permanent female Red? Shinkenger kinda went there with Kaoru Shiba, but that was only for a few episodes. I'm talking a full series with a female lead. I guess Toei/Bandai would prefer to play it safe. Male Pink doesn't look quite as odd as it should though.
Loved the fight between Right and the monster of the week on the tops of the trains, that was fun. Also nice to see individual "mecha" action. I always feel let down when they exist just to combine and form the big one.
And I like the intrigue of the backstory of the ToQgers themselves, and why they don't remember much of anything beyond their childhoods.
Still loving the hell out of Kamen Rider Gaim, and them blurring the lines of what exactly Yggdrasil's role is in all of this. Sounds like next week's going to throw that up in the air.
I think Duke might be my favourite of the "Energy Rider" suits. I might be biased because it's Aguri from Garo 3, but that's a cool suit. The only thing I dislike about the Energy Riders is a lack of song/jingle when they transform. I mark out when Kaito turns into Baron just for "KNIGHT OF SPEAR!"

Speaking of ToQger episode 2, check this out. I think we have a prevailing theory: {Spoiler} ">Children's Hosptial >Wards 28-31 >Accidents and Emergencies -> > Blood test -> >Fracture clinic ->" Right in a Coma.

Been hearing that one alot. Waiting for the subs for episode 3 to come out, but in light of that screencap, looks like we're heading that way. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} I'm wondering where this is all going to do towards the end, does Right wake up and become a "normal" person again? Do the Shadow Line emerge in the "real" world?
Colour me intrigued. In another weird Toei/Garo connection, I've recently realised that Riria Yoshikawa, the actress who plays Mio/Toq 3gou, is going to be playing Yu in Zero: Black Blood. That's going to be odd seeing her in those two different environments at once. Her character in Black Blood could be interesting though, a woman who is able to use a Soul Metal sword. That's probably significant. Whenever anyone other than a Makai Knight is able to use one it's huge (Juzo in episode 8 of Makai Senki was able to lift one of Rei/Zero's swords, with no training whatsoever, a proper "holy shit" moment there). I'm thinking towards the end, she uses that sword to summon armor, becoming the first female Makai Knight in the Garo universe. First part's out in theatres March 8th, with TV airings to follow. Can't wait!

Well I always knew it would be a Japanese production company that would have come up the very first Giant Train Mecha Porn, I just never thought it would have been Toei.

Well if Toei wanted to find ways to make it harder on Saban to adapt sentai...Giant train mecha boners is definetly a way to go.
And we are much closer to some magical being using the power of porn as a sentai power.

So, I just finished watching the final four episodes of Kyoryuger. As a finale, I am very mixed on it. The fact that it is revealed in this episode that Deboss has a creator is the biggest "Wait. What?" moment.
Only reason I could see to have that in there is to make Deboss a parallel to Cthulhu, who is also a planet destroying entity that has something worse above his level.
I kind of love that the theme song is Earth's Melody. Really didn't care for how the final battle was just between Daigo and Deboss, but at least the others used Earth's Melody to help, even if it was superficial.
As a whole, I really enjoyed Kyroryuger. I still feel that the show didn't really find it's focus until after Deboss was revived the first time, but I did enjoy it.
Also, I really hope Riku Sanjou consulted a proctologist before he pulled the Daigo and Amy pairing out of his ass, like that.

Saw a raw unsubbed version of Episode 1 of ZERO: Black Blood today. Someone put it up on youtube.
First impressions are good. Feels like it's firmly in the Garo universe, but different enough from the adventures of Kouga Saejima or Ryuuga Dougai. I always did like the episodes of Makai Senki where it was purely focused on Zero doing his thing, so I was always gonna be on board for this. Thankfully they haven't dropped the ball like they kinda did with the KIBA one-off.
And on a purely shallow level, ToQ 3gou has great legs.

He may not have to, as we're learning with Dino Charge.

About 20 episodes in on Gokaiger. Figured instead of plowing through some other series before that, I decided to use this as a sampler, and aside from that, the show f***ing rules.
I also REALLY want to see Carranger now, as it looks amazingly hilarious.

He may not have to, as we're learning with Dino Charge. Unless ToQger makes a zillion yen in merchandise sales and Bandai forces Saban's hand. And besides kids like trains, Thomas and Friends are still a pretty big draw in most English speaking countries.

Any excuse to post this: If they do a Thomas crossover with the PR version of ToQger, then I'm all for it. I'm quite enjoying ToQger as-is anyway. The brighter tone of everything (on the surface at least) makes for a nice contrast with what seems to be going on in Kamen Rider Gaim as well.

JAM Project bring the goods for another Garo theme-song, I need to find the full version of the "Black Blood" theme:
Subs for parts 1 & 2 came out yesterday. I'm actually conflicted on whether or not to watch them tomorrow, when I've also set aside this week's ToQger and Kamen Rider Gaim to watch in one sitting, or wait until Over-Time has released all six parts of Black Blood before I start watching that. I'm right in the middle of rewatching Makai Senki right now as well, so I might wait, and finish that in the meantime...

Talking of Abaranger and Dinosaur sentai, here's the All-dino group henshin & roll-call from The Kyoryuger vs Go-Busters movie: Fun fact: Geki's Dino Buckler is actually a modified MMPR Legacy Morpher.
