Yeah, Jesse Eisenberg is more suited for a role like The Riddler than Lex.
Seriously, did everyone go insane when 2014 began?

I like the Luthor casting. He's a good actor. He is. I dont think he is right for the role at all, but he is a good actor.

I think he's a perfectly solid actor, but he doesn't have a ton of range.

In the modern era, Batman in a live action film needs the look of armor.

In all seriousness, I like Eisenberg, and think he's a solid actor, but he's not the first guy I picture playing Luthor. At the same time, I've never seen him anything outside of the nervous awkward guy, so I have no idea if he has any range or not.

I'm taking a wait and see approach with this like I do with WWE storylines.

Younger can work, Rosenbaum has been the best on-screen Luthor yet, so maybe this will too.

Eisenberg already has experience playing a megalomaniac billionaire, so he could end up being a pretty solid choice.

... aaaand the makers of this movie officially stop giving a shit. I like the Luthor casting. He's a good actor. Woody Allen is a good actor too, that wouldn't make him a good Luthor either. Younger can work, Rosenbaum has been the best on-screen Luthor yet, so maybe this will too. Yeah but Rosenbaum was Luthor when the entire cast was young.

This is clearly a plight to make the shittiest movie ever to force people to admit Man of Steel wasn't that bad

Eh, I don't really see that making that much difference. I'm not sold on the casting either, but it's definitely interesting. I learned around 1989 that the last person you expect in a role can knock it outta the park, so we'll see.

Remember the MoS Supes is rookie Supes. So young Superman means young Luthor, imo.

I still say Eisenberg as Luthor is about as appropriate casting as John Wayne as Genghis Khan.

Ok I have just seen this now
I like Jesse Eisenerg, I really do! (I loved him in Social Network)
But what the actual f***?....This is a joke right?......I don't understand.......
Anyone what Bryan Cranston to me would have been a dissapointment (he would have been a perfect casting, for me anyways) but this, this is just....inexplicable

So many people wanted Cranston(hell even I did), so when he isn't it, everyone is upset, because they didn't get their dream casting. Really doesn't matter who it is, if it wasn't Cranston it wasn't going to fly with the fans.

Because that was one of the best "f*** you i am this character" performances ever considering all the backlash Ledger had when he was first announced (I think it was the 'really!!! the knights tale dude' reaction if i remember correctly) . But Eisenberg just isn't at that same level of talent I don't think.

Ledger only had to deal with trying to live up to Nicholson's performance. I don't remember there being a consensus "We wanted this actor to be the Joker, not the dude from Brokeback Mountain!" at the time.
