A normal case of bottle water is like, $10, if that much. You pay more from vending machines and gas stations because they can charge the extra convenience premium as you may not have the option of running home to get a refrigerated bottle. But unless you're buying a case of Voss, $40 is extremely overpriced for a grocery store or minimart to charge for a standard case of water. I worked at a CVS for 5 years, the price of a bottle of water ranged from $1 to $2. If someone came in looking to buy a case, we told them it was $1 to $2 times 24. Maybe supermarkets work different, but CVS is not a store that sells things in bulk, don't go in there buying something in bulk expecting to get a deal. Fair enough, I would have assumed they were like Walmart and everyone else that typically offered water by the case. But I was mistaken. A supermarket is cheaper, I used to buy cases of bottled water because the water in my apartment was bad, and they were usually under $10. Even if the price has increased in the interim, they wouldn't reach that ghigh. But if you went to a place that didn't sell cases, I could see how the cost would be much higher.

That's going to be almost everyone. The worst I've heard is that a coworker just said the CVS stores in Charleston are charging $40 for a case of bottled water. Is that supposed to be overpriced? Under normal circumstances a case of bottled water is usually 24 bottles and depending on the size can range from $1 to $2. $40 seems perfectly reasonable. A case of 24 bottles of water is generally about 4 to 7 dollars. They are being sold for up to ten times their normal price.
