In about 20 minutes, I will be 40 years old. I decided to treat myself to a new guitar. It's an Epiphone Jared James Nichols Old Glory Les Paul. It's lovely. I actually sold off an old guitar today, too. I pretty much decided I need to be one in, one out with them now. How's that P90?
It's not my most recent purchase, but last week I also bought myself a new guitar. Today I bought some other bits though, a while ago I got my hands on an old Italian Jen Crybaby Super wah-wah, and I think the potentiometer has gone in it considering it's older than me, so I bought a replacement. I'll be interested to see what happens there.

I really like it. Really does occupy that middle ground between regular single coils and humbuckers. Can be clean and clear but gets nice and angry when you gain it up. You do still get some hum, because its a single coil but that's the trade-off. I bought another guitar right before the pandemic that was also a single P-90 guitar, and that was the one that got me into P-90s. The Epiphone I got because I like that it's a mashup, a Junior in Custom clothing. I own a Les Paul Custom copy and I get on a little better with a thicker body and carved top. Also, nice fat neck. They've since released the guitar in gold, and a Pelham Blue version is coming later this year The pickup itself is a Seymour Duncan, their "vintage" P-90, so it's a decent pickup. It's kinda exclusive to these guitars as Seymour Duncan doesn't make that particular P-90 in a dog-ear fitting.

Very cool, I love a nice punchy P90; my only P90 guitar has been out of action for some years after a little accident. The current line of Epiphones are supposed to be excellent though, with really high quality electronics, a far cry from the old days when you got a good guitar with cheap and nasty electronics and hardware.

Just came back from thrifting and got a bunch of dvds:
Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi deluxe editions (the ones that also have the original theatrical version, now all I need to find is the deluxe edition for A New Hope) Creed 2 Office Space Demolition Man/Over the Top double sided disc (to replace my VHS copy of DM) The Shining/Doctor Sleep 2 disc set (I already have both on DVD, but this has them both in one box which helps with my space-saving concerns)

Pre-ordered the Katsuyori Shibata Micro Brawler simply because I'm a mark for the ROH Pure Championship.

Went to my local festival today. Won the red star at the dart balloon game, won the little purple unicorn at the quarter pushing game. Went to the craft vendors and bought the Vegeta magnet and the Grinch ornament (Not that I have preferences for a certain kind of character or anything lol)

Pre-ordered the Katsuyori Shibata Micro Brawler simply because I'm a mark for the ROH Pure Championship. Apparently Pro Wrestling Tees takes forever to get these out, as I haven't gotten it yet, checked Reddit, and folks there say the Micro Brawlers take months to get to you. In the meantime, though, I got the Jonathan Gresham Micro Brawler...again, I mark for the ROH Pure Title.

I didn't technically buy it, but I used my 15 years of service gift to get a wireless corsair headset. It's nice because my current gaming headset is cheap and currently duct taped together.
Also, picked up Baldur's Gate 3.

I pre-ordered the limited edition of Halloween Illustrated, a rerelease of the original novelization of the classic 1978 film with new illustrations. The version here, with the original cover art, is only available during the Halloween 45 convention currently taking place in Pasadena (notice the “Halloween 45” logo on the back). The wide-release version will have new artwork on the front cover.

A new dinosaur tooth for my collection. A very rare one, from Kazkahstan. In my years of collecting, I have only seen a handful of Kazakhstan teeth sold, and no theropod teeth. So it is very rare.

Using copious gift cards from my birthday I acquired a silicone guard for my sink counter to prevent spillage and staining. I can’t believe this idea never occurred to me ten years ago when I moved in.
