Work 6 days a week. I do it for what is supposed to be 5 hrs a day but actually turns into 6-8 everyday because i stay late. Days off are overrated sometimes.

Days off are overrated sometimes. that's pretty much what I'm looking at in a couple months. going to need a second job if I can't find a full-time one. I figure I'll just tell both places I can't wonk sunday and whatever else happens happens. it's like I said I know I asked for more shifts, I was just kind of mad that they called me on days I already told them I was unavailable for.

Why are you unavailable on those days? Is there any way you could be available on those days? Having 2 jobs will probably require you to work 7+ days on a frequent basis. I know a girl that has two 25ish hr per week jobs; she often works more than 12 days straight and puts in over 12 hrs on days where she has to work both. Flexibility goes a long way.

I have to think about my mental health, too. that's really the only reason. I have no problem working 6 days. as for why i was unavailable, I was visiting with a friend I hadn't seen in person in over 3 months (not sure when I'd be able to again) and then the next day I visited my grandmother, who I really don't see enough and she's getting older so I try to make time when I can. n

I figure I'll just tell both places I can't wonk sunday and whatever else happens happens. it's like I said I know I asked for more shifts, I was just kind of mad that they called me on days I already told them I was unavailable for. i tried this back in september. back then, i was at a job (retail) that i had been at for a year, and wasn't going to move up in the company. my boss had hired a new assistant manager in july who was terrible at the job, and hired somebody else over me to be a third key holder. when all this was going down, i got an offer for an interview for another job, which i ended up getting. at my old job, my boss said she only needed me on monday, wednesday, and saturday. so i told my new job i could do tuesday, thursday and friday. which was great. but it would *really* help her out if i could do sundays as well, plus it would give me more hours. i agreed to do sundays as well. what ended up happening after that is that i had 6 days off in two months. but i managed to quit my old job (which my old boss was not impressed with at all), and my new job gave me more hours. even better, i have a job interview tomorrow for a promotion. mental health days are important, i agree. but if you want to move out as badly as you say you do, then suck it up. i worked 11 days, had a day off, then did 9 days in a row. there were two weeks where i did 6 days a week, then i did 20 days in a row. this all paid off for bigger and better things. work for what you want. if you want to move out, then work like you want to move out.

You asked for more work, they are offering you more work. You should be happy, albeit annoyed that it's an inconvenient time. You either need the money or you don't, man. With the cost of living in my area, I can either be broke and happy or rich and bored, and I choose broke and happy. But I am aware of this choice.

You're not really "Da Bad Guy" until you strut in, toothpick in mouth, and gold chains around your neck. Then if someone mouths off, you nail them with the Razor's Edge.
