I love that theme so much so damn epic and Christopher Daniel Barnes is always the voice of Spiderman to me. And the Venom sage is my favourite saga for so many reasons most hilarious. Venom driving a semi truck and honking at spiderman will never not be funny And SHOCKER GET BACK HERE!!! I'LL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!!!!!! I also love Mark Hamill lending his Joker voice to the Hobgoblin, who I wish had a few more episodes devoted to him.

I picture that the HobGoblin is what Joker descides to become when he gets bored of Batman. And Venom is what happened to Moe from the Simpsons after one too many prank calls from Bart.

Loved it. That and X-Men were the the two shows I used to watch as a kid. I remember X-Men got really convoluted around the Dark Phoenix saga though, same with the Secret War for Spider-Man.
And whilst both have great themes, X-Men's is miles better.

As for the Alien Costume saga, I loved this
Spidey: Where'd You come from?
Rhino: Jersey.

I loved this final saga because of all the hilarious pot shots it took at the comic book version , and also douchebag Armor SpiderMan. Spiderman: Did he say his GIANT SPIDER ROBOT??

Its kind of funny that it was this show which introduced elements to the mythos which have become accepted or the standard; a detailed history between Brock and Parker/Spider-Man, the symbiote making Peter aggressive, Osborn and Goblin being a split personality.

Has anyone here ever read a Spider-Man comic?
He talks. A lot.
If anything, this was a very accurate adaptation of him............it's just that no one ever realized that translating all that talking would be so annoying.

Pretty much all those things were at least partially in the comics first though, so it's not as if the show full on introduced 'em. I will say that the animated was pretty reflective of just how sad sack Peter was in the books at the time as well. Hell, if anything they restrained it a bit, as in the books he was calling himself "The Spider" when in costume and generally everything was unpleasant all the way around, especially once the Clone Saga amped up. And ya know what, I LOVE Ulimate Spider-man. That show is fun as all hell.

Venom's history with Parker in the comic was so clearly out of nowhere and a somewhat sloppy attempt at connecting it to the sin-eater story that I'm not suprised no other media has used it. The symbiote not simply making him tired but changing his personality also added more drama and explains why other media did utilize it.

I actually enjoy Ultimate Spider-Man, but those cheesy family guy-esque cutaways (though i did like "doom demands sprinkles!") and chibi-spidey segments need to disappear. Say what you will about Avengers Assemble, but at least it doesnt suffer from those. As for 90s spider-man, yeah, its not that great (strangely, i do still enjoy 90s X-Men though). Amazing Friends and the 1967 series are actually more enjoyable despite being more limited animation-wise.

Loved the 90s cartoon as a kid and I still really enjoyed it while watching it on Netflix. It has its flaws but it's plain fun to watch in my opinion.

I don't think it held up very well, but I think the same thing about the X-Men cartoon as well. Maybe because they followed on going storylines, so you just can't really pick an episode at random. I don't know, it's almost like those cartoons were the Neon Truckers hat of cartoons.

I wasn't a fan of the season-spanning storylines as a kid. I'd end up missing an episode here and there, and suddenly it's "Neogenic Nightmare, Part 11" or something.

Am I the only one who thought it was funny that people use the word "bug" in a Spider Man thread?

Am I the only one who thought it was funny that people use the word "bug" in a Spider Man thread? Which leads me to mention that I love how Spidey called Green Goblin out on that in Spectacular Spider-Man. SSM, and the early '80s series = best Spider-Man shows, IMO.

Even though Spectacular is the best Spider-Man series, i'm not a big fan of fat Doc Ock. He just doesnt look like much of a threat. Compare him to the updated Electro or Lizard from that series and you'll see what i mean.

The Batman 90s cartoon was beautifully crafted, designed as much for adults as children and is still almost entirely watchable today, ditto to the majority of the DCAU productions. Hell the DCAU actually influenced the comics in the end.
X-Men and Spiderman were kids shows, and so are written in that crash-TV 90s mindset of a million miles a minute, bright colours, stuff always happening. It doesn't help that much of the dialogue is verbatim from the comic issues.
I mean shit at one point Spiderman actually MEETS STAN LEE. Are you f***ing serious?

Oh yes, I remember that. It was after the "Parkers 'return'" saga. When Spidey was duped, he suddenly became moody and aggressive and kept having inner monologues saying "I am the Spider" multiple times. Don't recall that translating over to the Fox series, though. Though as per the norm with a lot of Spider-Man incarnations, he did get really emo at times, especially after the Mary Jane disappearance. Yes, the Fox series is responsible for the condensed version of Venom's origin, which usually works. Remind me...did they include Venom being an anti-hero wanting to protect "innocents"? Because other versions have just made him a straight villain (SSM, though they teased him fighting crime when he beat up the robbers only to steal their loot for himself to frame Spidey. And Spider-Man 3, the less said, the better.)

There is some good to it, the opening theme is kickass, the fight scenes are fun, and the writing is pretty good but my god it goes by way to f***ing fast, and spidey never seems to shut up. With all due respect--your opinion sucks. :-p But yeah, it's not the best comic cartoon. I prefer the original cartoon to it quite a bit, even if it's not accurate. The 90s Spiderman is OK, but the plot pacing is very weird and spiderman refuses to shut up.Hi Mr. Raimi, how are you? The original cartoon I like more now, but mostly because of a certain way it's depicted in internet JPEGs now. (I'm here looking for them, while just sitting here...you know...) Aside from SSM, I think the 1981 series and Amazing Friends are the best.
