Speaking of bats... Seems like Fluttershy still having some bat left in her might not be a thing anymore. She was around apple stuff pretty much that whole time with all those Brown Betties and it didn't trigger a thing.
I'm expecting someone to tell me "Only whole apples trigger the change", but it looks like there won't be a follow up any time soon.

It still weirds me out that Bridle Gossip is that high up. Not that I dislike the episode, it's a good one, but I would never call it one of the best of the series or anything. BLASPHEMY!!! Who are you to doubt El Zecora? Alright, Bret Hart joke aside, I'm kinda surprised as well. Granted, it's one of my favorites, as Zecora is one of my favorite characters. She needs more screen time, as well as Doctor Whooves. I don't think anything will be able to top A Canterlot Wedding. Remember how we all freaked out about it when we first heard it, and now we hold it in very high praise? I think it all has to do with this: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}

Thought I was gonna post "This Day Aria", didn't ya? I prefer Lesson Zero and didn't really like Canterlot Wedding all that much until I rewatched it, but it is one of the best the series has to offer. That being said, I haven't watched it recently. I imagine I'm not going to be able to without thinking, "We're not biologically related!" |

"Rainbow Falls"...gets a 6/10 from me. What I liked about this episode... -Bulk Biceps was a highlight in this episode for me. His mannerisms, his speech, his actions...I found him entertaining throughout. -Derpy was also a high point her. She may never talk again, but I am OK with appearances like this from her. Definitely good seeing her again. -Rainbow Falls was another nice-to-look-at location. The sets this season have been amazing so far. What I didn't like about this episode... -Rainbow Dash. She kinda fell a bit back into the Rainbow Douche mode that I thought she left behind for a while now. Also felt that the "faking an injury" method was really weak and I could not believe that they went that route. Anything else would have been better. And I also had a bit of problem with Twilight telling her the road to the solution, would have been better if Dashie came to the solution all by herself. -Even though they explained it by stating that nopony can compete in two disciplines, I have a hard time believing that nopony else besides Fluttershy and Bulk would want to tag with Dashie. And Flutters never struck me as the sporty type...strange. -The Wonderbolts were also pretty unlikable throughout (especially their treatment towards Soarin). Unlike Wonderbolts Academy, I felt that this behaviour was really douchey and if I were Dashie, I would question being a fan of such "idols" anymore. Not a good portrayal of them. -The other mane cast members came off a bit one-track-minded to me in this one. Rarity only occupied with her dresses, AJ only having eyes for her Apple Brown Betties? What the hay? So yeah, 6/10 and one of the weaker episodes so far this season. |
