So, does AJ drop the title at a house show?

[jackasstroll]Hur hur. See ya next Monday!![/jackasstroll] Hur hur, Raw is on Tuesdays in Australia. It's still Monday where it matters. But seriously, I've been there...it f***ing sucks when your guy leaves. I saw that happen with Angle who also left under similar frustrations. I'm not saying that these guys that leave are right, but in this last case, WWE was definitely WRONG.

Wow, I know I've said that a 1997-esque shakeup of the card between the Rumble and WrestleMania wasn't impossible, but damn... Is that actually a possibility now? It is a pretty damn fascinating period right now. It seems like the big, whole show overhaul that's really been on the verge of happening since 2011 but hasn't quite been reached yet is suddenly being forced.

Good on him. Hopefully he's sitting down with Colt right now for Thursday's Art of Wrestling.

They should put Punk in this years hall of fame. Would help make it an even better class. With Bryan now vs Triple HHH you can save the world title match by putting Brock in it but he would have to win. Sheamus can wrestle Undertaker or if someone else is against Undertaker then ADR.

This going to put a big damper on my dwindling interest in WWE.
For every crappy comedy segment or fluff angles I could always rely on Punk putting on a hell of a show.

I love Punk in the ring but I would hate to meet him outside just because he's capable of things like this. WWE will do the only thing they can do now, which is to place Punk on the everlasting s**tlist alongside Benoit and Jeff Jarrett because he's screwed the company and screwed the fans. Even Lesnar had the decency to give a bit of notice he was walking out. Comparing the Jarrett and this situation to Benoit?? That's not even remotely close. Compared to Austin in 2003 when he left is more likely. I doubt we'll get Vince to publicly talk down to him but still. I'm not trying to say it's okay for what he did but I see his frustration and to be honest, I'm a little surprised it's taken him this long to quit.

Well, in fairness he was starting to get stale. A huge roster yet we only ever see the same 10 guys.

Well, that leaves Bryan and Ziggler who can reliably put on a good match, good thing the WWE listens to the suckers, er, Universe!

and they ask why Vince doesn't want to build stars.
Warrior, Austin, Lesnar and Punk. all took ball and went home. Rock went to movies, Hogan went to WCW. Michaels went to early retirement.
i hope it's not true though. Punk is a big part of WWE. maybe he's been half-assing for a while, but he's still a ridiculous talent.

Oh well.
...I guess I'm supposed to be more wound up about this or something. Nope...oh well. If Punk really can't be bothered anymore due to various issues then this is the right move for him to get out. Best wishes to the guy. Be good if he didn't walk, but if he does...well, there are plenty of others that would dearly love the spot and position he did have, even if it didn't satisfy him, so they have a chance to step it up now.
Just hope it doesn't hurt Bryan. He needs the chanting time!

I have this sinking feeling that the WWE is going to panic heading into WM and, rather than go in a new direction, it's going continue to look to the past to try to keep interest.

Compared to Austin, the difference is that WWE could (and always would) be able to make money with Stone Cold and vice versa. It's mutually beneficial for Austin and WWE to be on good terms. It's not the same way with punk. WWE don't need Punk to make money - aside from 1 month in 2011, he's never drawn enough to make a noticeable impact should he be gone for good.

I really don't think Vince can hold it against Shawn that he retired. I wouldn't call that an early retirement, either, he's one of the only wrestlers to have retired with class, dignity, and a great match where he counted the lights on the way out - plus he's not been back to wrestle again yet.

What was beneficial to Austin walking out (I was wrong about the year, it was 2002)?? How can Austin make money if he's not even with the company and at the time, they weren't on good terms which is why Vince had arguably the greatest promo guy lay into Austin? You were correct about drawing power because they probably wouldn't give a damn if Yoshi Tatsu quit but they won't blacklist CM Punk forever if at all.
