Tried multiple times to put my feelings into words but uh.... yeah... this is pretty major, for both the WWE and for fans.

I expect a Triple H & Stephanie promo talking about how Punk just couldn't hang with top guy while dropping, subtle hints that he is only referring to himself, in a worked shoot.

I think he has a concussion, at least that was hinted by Pat Buck and he's close buddies with a lot of guys in the company.
If that's not correct, and truth is closer to him being pissed at having no real meaningful opponent at Mania, then WWE can go f*** themselves.

It's too bad TNA can't afford him. Just imagine the matches he would have with Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, Austin Aries, Jeff Hardy, Abyss, and Magnus!

Not really clear on why he just plain bailed right before the show the way he did.
Makes complete sense for him to want to leave, not sure why he didn't just leave in July though. He could have had a sendoff with no ill will.

Punk being my current absolute favorite, if I hadn't quit WWE because of Bryan not winning the Rumble on Sunday, this certainly would have been it for me.
As it is, though, it just reinforces my will to not watch anymore. I haven't been this down on WWE since I started watching again in 2010.

Just hope it doesn't hurt Bryan. He needs the chanting time! If this story is true we may get duelling "Daniel Bryan/CM Punk" chants during Batista/Authority segments. I can also imagine Punk seeing the rumble as a microcosm of a WM-WM year in WWE, Punk and The Shield work their asses off for the most of match/year, Batista enters in at the end and wins, the crowd boo and chant for Bryan.

CM Punk, AJ Lee, and Daniel Bryan are pretty much the main WWE stars that I watch for.
If AJ leaves anytime soon, which seems like a possibility if Punk's gone, and since her best friend Kaitlyn also left WWE; that just leaves Daniel Bryan.
But it's not the first time some or all of my favorites have left, so I'm not gonna say I'll quit watching. It's just disappointing...

I can't bring myself to completely side with Punk on this. Certainly no one should stick around if they're unhappy.
But man, you had a very good run. It's likely you were going to have a very good summer angle. ...I just can't find 'dat sympathy.

Good. Tired of him being a whiner and tired of his shit attitude. He's not happy unless he's miserable. Hopefully they let someone take his spot. (This is coming from a Punk fan btw)

Guy was spinning his wheels for a while, and if he's comfortable enough financially to walk away from his contract more power to him.

This could all be being blown out of proportion and he just needs time to heal...
...then again perhaps not.

I'm going to follow my golden rule of pro wrestling
Everything said or done by a wrestler or wrestling company is a work unless there is overwhelming proof it isn't a work

Even if TNA could afford him, there's no chance Punk would go to TNA. Like... less than zero percent chance. And at this point, TNA being able to afford a turkey club sandwich is wishful thinking.

(This is coming from a Punk fan btw) I agree with you and I hope someone takes his spot, but I found his "shit attitude" to be quite endearing. Honestly my favorite Punk moments are his random acts of belligerent douchebaggery against the fans.

Leaving in time for Wrestlemania? He's turned into Bizarro-Jericho.
BTW, how does walking out work from a legal standpoint? Can WWE sue him for breach of contract, or does it say somewhere in said contact that the talent doesn't really have to show up for work if they don't feel like it? Considering that they're independant contractors, if I hired someone to fix my roof, I doubt that they can just leave halfway through without any legal consequenses.

I'm kinda glad he's gone, he was really boring and it was clear Bryan was the better of the two.
At the same time, he's one of the three most over superstars and his 434 day reign was epic. I wish he stayed until July to get a proper sendoff.
