If true, I understand, I don't want to see it happen as I like to watch him work too much, but I totally get it. Yes he's been high profile for a few years now, but he's the high profile guy that they shortcut any time someone who used to work there decides they want a payday.
Rock/Cena II was basically, "Hey Punk, look you've had that title for over a year so how's about droppin' it to Rock so the title can be in their match". Wrestling Taker was enough of a consolation prize, I think, to keep anyone happy.
However, when this year comes around and it looked like he would get one of the main event matches, they went and signed Batista which means two years in a row somebody who left years ago gets his match.
Once is coincidence, twice is a pattern. If he's banged up, and has rushed back from injuries and, unlike Cena, been given filler feuds instead of top of the card spots, then been moved aside two years in a row for a part timer, well I think I'd burn out as well.
Also, if his contract is up in July, and he's decided he's done at that point, why not just take off?

Think of it this way. Punk has been in the WWE for years and has always been extremely popular, and cares about the fans and the product. The product just isn't good and if Punk hates the direction and can afford to take his ball and go home, he should.

I still think he's trying taking a break. I don't recall him being injured for such a long time.

I hope WWE has a big Plan B for fans who spent $95 on Axxess VIP tickets--Punk is scheduled for a session on Saturday evening.
(Sorry if that's already been mentioned, but there's no way I'm reading through 16 pages first thing in the morning!)

Well, at least he didn't pee on Arn Anderson first.

Having to sell for the midget in a bully costume was the final straw for Punk. However he seems ok with selling for regular midgets.

I don't know if they've removed him from being listed for that, but he's been removed from house show line-ups.

It was noted he worked 50 minutes of the Rumble, but how much of that was spent balled up in the corner? What was that about?

I'm sure he's got personal/health reasons but honestly, I'd feel the same way if I worked my butt off to make it to the top of a company(and watched as a colleague did the same) and constantly saw the opportunity for a top spot, only to have the rug pulled out time and time again as past workers and friends of the leader of the company came back and got that spot. Sure, Punk had an awesome couple of years but I wouldn't say he's ever been in the top spot. As he mentioned, even when he held the belt for so long, they just moved the title matches out of the main event. Perhaps, rather than focusing on only Cena as the top guy, they could have split the spotlight. It wouldn't kill Cena or his sales, and it may have actually kept him from becoming as stale as he is now. Sadly, I'm not sure that the same thing isn't going to happen with Bryan.
All that said, I'd like to wait for more info before making final conclusions.

They are, but it was a filler feud with absolutely no value that didn't mean anything for Punk. It was the same story over and over for weeks. Which can be said of a lot of feuds in the WWE but that's my general point in regards to not feeling that the WWE is right in their treatment of their guys. They're wasting potential just out of stubbornness or a complete lack of enjoyable writing. Not that I think that'd matter as such if he hadn't of been booked against Curtis Axel/Ryack (remember a year ago when he was THE babyface of the WWE in live reactions? Who the company ruined beyond belief for absolutely zero reason...) prior, and then with a suited non-wrestler Kane after. He's been involved with filler for so long, badly written unentertaining filler, that if he had left as he felt beating his own body up for the company was a waste of time, then it surely must be a waste of time. The feud with The Shield would be fine if it had been written to end and Punk had more stories of importance around it, hell, I'm not even a Punk fan any more but the idea of not pushing one of your few full time main event stars as...a full time main event star is mind boggling. ...it could just be that I feel sorry for anyone who ever has to make Curtis Axel look like a threat too. Damn I hate Curtis Axel. "Filler feuds" are not an excuse to half ass it. If an athlete is dogging it in games that don't matter, he or she is rightfully criticized. Same should go for Punk. You're contracted to do a job. It's your responsibility to do it to the best of your abilities. If you feel such a job is beneath you, you should walk, but you don't deserve sympathy. Oh I agree completely with that, but I don't blame someone for feeling under-appreciated and frustrated after months of that flowing through their mind and going "enough, you need to do better by me or you can get stuffed." My opinion is that I've not enjoyed Punk outside of the 'Taker/Lesnar matches in the past year and a half, the (apparent) fact is that he upped and left as he's been unhappy for a long time with the WWE. This is where I think is where the confusion between us is coming from, if so I apologize for my awful writing/phrasing of my argument, I sometimes struggle with differentiating between my own thoughts and what's actually happened. I don't know, I've left a job in the same way before so maybe it's just that I think the individual's emotion matters more than the businesses' lack of growth or development or agreed compromise.

I really hope he isn't leaving for good but who knows, but would be pretty disappointing for most on the roster who work pretty hard week in week out and move down the ladder for a returning part timer.
The whole RR was garbage i think, shouldn't have been a Batista win. CM/DB should have

I remember reading the smackdown spoilers and was thinking wow Punk is not on smackdown either. I chalked it up to selling the chokeslam through the table. I hope he isn't gone for too long, but if so does that mean Daniel Bryan will come out and cut a promo about Punk taking his ball and going home? Like the Rock did when Austin left. I can understand his frustrations though as people who night in/night out travel up and down the roads are pushed aside at Wrestlemania time for Legends and Part-timers.

Could this be even more windfall from the whole Batista/Royal Rumble thing? I would imagine it has something to do with it. I remember Punk being one of the most vocal when it came to Rock's comeback and he wasn't exactly thrilled by it.

I'm not all that surprised by this. I figured he'd have a strong reaction to recent events, not quite this strong, but I felt like he was going to do something.
