Meltzer never said anything bad about AJ. He said that he was told that people in WWE were laughing at her and calling her a mark for getting a tattoo of the date she won the Divas title. This was soon after the announcers were laughing at her about it one night. All he does is talk shit about her. Tattoo, Beadle, cartoon, anonymous letter... I'm just saying that I doubt stuff he reports is actually true when it comes to AJ, everything is so extremely negative in comparison to everyone else. I don't buy it. IMO his "source" knows how to spice stories up and increase traffic on his site. Re: the AJ tattoo thing. I can't remember if it was Flair or Harley Race or Terry Funk who said this, but whoever it was once said that being booked to win the NWA world title was like pro wrestling's equivalent of winning an Oscar. Does that make Flair, Race, and Funk pathetic belt marks? I dare whoever is dissing AJ behind her back for being proud of being chosen to win a championship to do the same to Harley Race!

I believe the "Meltz hates AJ" saga began with him being duped by a fraudulent AJ twitter account saying they wouldn't pay for info in his newsletter that they could get elsewhere for free. Meltzer replied he wished he didn't have to pay for her matches on pay-per-views. Later he made what some viewed as a half-assed apology.

It's the Divas title. Even the company that created it doesn't give a shit about it. Oh I know. Still doesn't make it right, though. It's going to happen as long as some titles are treated as important and others aren't. The Divas title isn't considered important, and the now-defunct Women's title has the distinction of being, I think, the only title where WWE fired titleholders while champion (Rockin' Robin, Alundra Blayze, Chyna).

If that letter is real I really hope I never find out who wrote it as I will lose all respect for them. For real. Not for havhing that opinion, but for being a sneaky little wuss and anonymously sending it to the dirtsheets and saying "print this! muahahahah". Just based on that move, I know this guy would not say any of that to CM Punk's face.

The reason AJ has been the Divas Champion and has been given mic time is because she has talent, and most people don't. AJ can make Naomi's rear view look incredibly devastating and in turn, not break her face by f***ing up.

I love that Punk stayed true to himself the whole time. I sincerely think that his goal was to become the top guy in WWE without having to do any of the soul-selling phoniness that most in that role have had to do. He wanted that brass ring on his *own* terms. It was obviously an impossibility due to WWE's micromanagement and need for manufactured B.S. PR, but I commend him for at least getting as far as he did without really having to change.
I think he wanted to main event WrestleMania for being CM Punk, who he is, not a corporate cartoon character. Basically, the anti-Miz. Miz was a guy who for all intents and purposes received all his initial "success" over playing the right game and saying the right things until Vince, a noted alpha male, grew tired of him not having any balls and punished him for it. Vince, it seems, respects Punk. Ad he's always held a level of respect for guys who don't seem to "need" him, kind of like that stereotypical hot woman who only wants you when you don't want her. Anyone in the pantheon of WWE who looked to Vince in a more personal way ended up burned or hurt (Bret, Foley, etc.).
Punk is different. And while Vince is around, he'll always have a role to walk back into, I guarantee you. HHH will not like it, of course, but considering his own perpetual self-serving interests with protecting a character no longer needing to be protected, he kind of deserves to have his face rubbed in not getting his way for once.

From Alvarez. Honestly, it's hard to disagree with the bulk of it. Punk does come off like the type of guy who says he wants to be the face of the company but would then turn around and bitch non-stop about all the extra PR dates and traveling. By process of elimination, I'd narrow this down to Jack Swagger, Alex Riley, or some random referee/non-air personality. Cena, Kane, Bryan, Christian, are too classy for that. Punk is friends with Ziggler, Ryder, Hawkins, Kofi, Hornswoggle, the Usos, Tyson Kidd, Rey Mysterio, Goldust, and Cody Rhodes so they obviously wouldn't say any of that. Then you have everyone else, who just don't seem stupid enough to act like that. So yeah, my money is on the two jackass fratboys.

Wasn't AJ getting like 3 segments per show on average when she was dating Trent Barretta? Her and Punk weren't even a item until last Summer at the earliest. So what is this employee's reasoning for "The Summer of AJ" in 2012. I don't know if her and Trent? were dating at the time she was all over the shows or not but yeah, her and Punk weren't an item until this summer as far as know. And it's the Divas' division, they typically give a heel a long run and then have her knocked off by a face that lasts until the next heel is built and start the process over. Exactly. Ask Beth Phoenix or even Dean Ambrose, right now, if long reigns mean anything. If anything, AJ has been booked like any other diva since dating Punk. The locker room environment seems just toxic for her with these consistent digs. I hope she's thick-skinned. From Alvarez. Honestly, it's hard to disagree with the bulk of it. Is it just because he looks like an ass? Haha. I'm a fan of the guy and he's never made shooty comments. I guess it's possible. It's also possible that Dave just made this up. He gets hits and he doesn't have to answer to anyone. Wrestling journalism.

Maybe when he returns, he can bring Luke Gallows and make him the fake Kane once more to spite Corporate Kane and tell him this is how a monster should really be.

It's the Divas title. Even the company that created it doesn't give a shit about it. Oh I know. Still doesn't make it right, though. The thing is, the divas DO care about it every bit as much, if not more than some of the guys and their titles. I don't like AJ. It's that simple. But, to her credit, she is as high as she can get in WWE unless they suddenly start booking her in matches against dudes, this is her first championship in WWE, and she seems like someone who wants to be there to be a wrestler rather than someone who mayuse it as a springboard to leaving to becoming an actress or something. But this apparently makes her a "Mark" as opposed to someone with a bit of bloody passion for what she's doing? I said it before, but cancelling my Wrestling Observer subscription was one of the best decisions I made.

She is not the most talented female wrestler, but she works her ass off and she genuinely loves what she is doing. If I was running a wrestling company, I would hire AJ in a second for that very reason. If I was her, I would have a tattoo commemorating my first title win too! Do what I do. Until the division is not presented as a joke, being proud of it is going get that reaction from some people. It's no different that how a huge, dangerous bump can be received as a awesome, memorable moment or an incredible act of stupidity depending on the importance of the match.
