At this point he's leaped over that damn thing dozens of times.

This happened at least 15 years ago. As for the episode, they may as well just title the episode 'Please for the love of God watch our show and consider us still creatively relevant.' Next year - in a shocking season premiere, The Simpsons will kill off 50% of the main family and give every viewer $20. Plus, Julie Kavner will fellate Harry Shearer live on air! Only on Fox! Still better than anything Seth MacFarlane poops out these days. It's practically giving me a nosebleed to defend Seth, but I love American Dad, Ted is okay and I'm quite looking forward to A Million Ways To Die In The West... plus Family Guy is, sadly, funny more often than Simpsons is these days. Of course, prime Simpsons is light years better than anything that Seth has ever done.

So I really enjoyed this episode.
I was worrying it would be too gimmicky and cheap but they pulled it off well. It's good for a "zombie" simpsons episode, doesn't hold up to any of the classics of course, but it fits in with the better of the recent seasons.
The excecution kind of felt like the sort of thing Community would do

Good stuff. The problem with recent Simpsons episodes are their tendency to double down on the snark and trying to be more irreverent than Family Guy, which ain't gonna happen. This one kept things simple and added a lot of heart to the storyline, both Homer and Lisa came off as sympathetic.

I thought it was a really cute episode.
And I still want my Lego Simpsons video game dammit!

The excecution kind of felt like the sort of thing Community would do They did, only using G.I. Joe instead of Legos. While I liked the Community one more, this was a damn fine episode.

It was pretty good. I also like the bit at the end where they (nearly) admit that the episode's plot was similar to The LEGO Movie.
