For the record, Matt Kenseth and Denny Hamlin won the duels. Now to calculate who else makes the 500.

At least Jimmie took responsibility for his f*** up. Wouldn't hear that from Kyle Busch.

Harvick, Danica, AND Tony all have to start from the back of the field on Sunday.

Kligerman apparently did make the field, if the Fox crew's lineup was correct.

My bad, I'll fix that. I think I missed his owner point standings.

To me, the real winners were Cole Whitt, Parker Kligerman and Alex Bowman. Great for them to be in.
Not too happy about Josh Wise being in, though. I'm not too keen on Phil Parsons' due to his lack of progress as a team owner, especially when Ryan Truex gets DNQ'd by him as well. He's no Tommy Baldwin. AT ALL.

^ Hey, it's not for everyone. See also: Cale Yarborough Motorsports, Bobby Allison Motorsports, or any of the owner/driver combinations in the 90s not named Alan Kulwicki.
Also, looking over that field and some of the names, it definitely seems like we're coming over another changing of the guard but I'm not really sure how, since that would require this past decade to be defined by a certain group of familiar names, and off the top of my head it's not nearly as easy to think about versus the names of the 90s, for example.

So I'm browsing my onscreen channel guide and Fox is airing something called "Daytona 500 Bash at the Beach."
NASCAR had better hope no one from WWE Legal sees that!
