Meanwhile a truly good worker, Paige, is still stuck in NXT. When you see someone like her, who no one likes, constantly get TV time while women who are liked by fans, are every bit as hot or hotter, and can actually wrestle, get stuck in developmental forever..it really makes you wonder about exactly how that is possible. Of course I think we all know the answer. I think it's a damn shame women who work their ass off and are attractive to boot are constantly looked over for women who don't even try in the ring but are willing to wrestle around in the mud with pigs. Tragically, it's sorta always been like that. Hell, even in the "golden age" of women's wrestling during the Attitude/Ruthless Aggression Era, women like Molly Holly, Jazz and Victoria, despite their amazing talent, always took backseats to chicks like Trish Stratus who, quiet as it's kept, probably wouldn't have gotten half as over or been anywhere near as known if they didn't constantly have male viewers feeling some kinda way. S'the way it's always been, and probably will be for a while: You can have all the talent in the world, but if you don't have a nice set or look good in a thong, you'll still be second tier at best.  Looks have less to do with it in Paige's case, and more because, if they call up Paige, they probably want to do it in the best circumstances. It is very obvious that they think highly of her, given how dominate she has been booked in NXT, but you only really debut once. They won't want to f*** it up like they did with Gail Kim in her first run, where they pushed her heavily right away and they realized they jumped the gun. Beyond that, they have a lot of divas in NXT, and that whole division is built around Paige. Pull her out prematurely, and all of the girls are f***ed over. They want all of them to get good, since even WWE can probably see how.... well, Cameron can dance okay, at least? Yeah, no one is under any illusion that she is some amazing talent. |
