Well DAMN.
@sportscenter Paul George was asked if he wants Lance Stephenson back as a teammate next year. He answered, "I mean, I don't know."

I still think the Heat are the most hated team in America honestly. Of course, they have their fanbase in Miami, however, majority of people tend to hate their arrogance and how the league favors them. So to a certain degree they are still villains.
Let's be honest here. Is it really fair to say Indiana was being immature throughout the playoffs? As well as Lance Stephenson? Players like Lambieer(spelling?), Rodman, Gary Payton, Isiah Thomas, Bird, and Rick Barry said and did far worse in their prime on the court. That's the problem with the league and fans today, it's gotten too soft, too corporate, and too much of a product rather than an actual competition that involved players trash talking and attempting to get in their opponents heads.
What used to be a competitive league has turned into players flopping, no defense, favoritism, media bias, and accusations of league conspiring efforts to maintain teams like Miami stay on top.

Gotta disagree with you in a big way here. The no defense thing is SUCH a myth imo. There are less hard fouls and no more hand checking, yes, but thats countered by the retraction of the illegal defense rule and the implementation of the zone in the NBA (which has changed a lot, but I dont feel like getting into how hard the zone makes things for players). Also, defensive scheming being at its apex. The league is more defensive focused and shifted now than it's ever been. There was almost no defense in the 80s. The 80s was as free flowing and defenseless as we've ever seen. It was fun to watch, but there wasn't much defense at all until the bad boy Pistons came around. They were phenomenal on D, as were the Bulls who followed them as the best team in the league. But the 90's were insanely weak when it came to perimeter talent. There were a lot of great bigs, but not a lot of wing or guard depth in the 90s, which resulted in lower scoring games. People often confuse that with great defense being played. If you want defense, the Pistons and the Spurs of the mid 00s should be the prime examples. But instead of being lauded for their defense, they were criticized for being too boring (which is hilarious when talking about the Spurs, who play an awesome, beautiful brand of offensive basketball). Also, there were always floppers. Bill Russell, when he was a commentator in the 70s and 80s, used to say at least once per game that acting was a big part of an NBA players' skillset - because there would always be a foul or two that they'd have to laugh away. That hasn't changed at all, there's just more of a focus on it now.

Count me in as another who thought LeBron got too much hate. He left Cleveland, how dare he. Michael, Zeke, Bird, and Magic never took off from a team. They also had front offices who knew what they were doing, and got great players around them. LeBron would have killed for someone like a Michael Cooper to be on the Cavs. Instead he was expected to drag scrubs to an NBA Title. Let's be honest here. Is it really fair to say Indiana was being immature throughout the playoffs? As well as Lance Stephenson? Flopping, favoritism, media bias, and accusations of conspiracies have been around since the league started. It's not a new thing. As for Lance Stephenson, those guys you mentioned backed it up. They legitimately got in opposing player's heads and screwed up their game.

Oh give me a goddamn break. If you seriously think Magic, MJ, Kareem, etc. never got favorable calls, you're delusional. As for flopping...again, watch some old games. There has always been and there always will be flopping, it's more of a strategic measure now. Defense still exists now, and again the league has to adapt constantly to match new schemes and everything. Hell, defense is A LOT better now than it was in the 80s. Oh yeah, media bias now? I guess you ignored the Pistons being the villains of the NBA and MJ being the savior at the time. Or how the media specifically constructed to make MJ seem like a hero, when he was an absolute asshole.

Also, it would be much harder to cover up Michael's suspension for gambling nowdays with a retirement story

So.... exactly how did Dallas beat Miami 3 years ago again?
The Miami Superfriends are 14-1 in playoff series together, undefeated against the East. The one loss? A Mavericks team whose title seems like eons ago.

Yes James, Wade, and Bosh are still the main focus, but the whole team is built around them and play in a style that suits them perfectly. The year Dallas won the title the Heat weren't playing like this.

The year Dallas won the title the Heat weren't playing like this. Exactly. Their entire offense in 2011 was isolations and high pick and roll. There was no actual system or anything like they have now, and Dallas' zone was able to counteract James and Wade getting to the basket. They made tons of adjustments to everything because of that series, and what came out of it was what we see saw in 2012, 13, and now. They relied purely on individual greatness in 2011, whereas now they play great team basketball that is taken to another level thanks to the individual greatness.

And so ends the season of one of the biggest poseurs in NBA history. This season was a complete failure because these "guys" took a step back and regressed.

So we waited 12 months, 2,460 regular season games, and three months of playoff basketball to get to exactly where we were last June. Heat vs. Spurs in the NBA Finals. If you'll excuse me, I've got to yawn so hard it breaks my jaw.

Growing up a Utah Jazz fan, anyone who thinks favoritism is anything new doesn't know a goddamn thing about basketball and their opinions of the sport are almost certainly invalid. Jordan f***ing pushed off and he knows it and the Bulls were a bigger and far more annoying dynasty than the Heat. ((Just a touch bitter about my favorite players never getting rings, in case you can't tell ))
