Just because Flash Sentry is there doesn't mean the first Equestria Girls is canon to the main show.
It's like trying to make the DBZ movies (save Garlic Jr and even that's a stretch) canon to the DBZ series.
Or any of the Tenchi series canon to each other. They have the same characters, but the stories are different.
...though I wouldn't mind it being canon if it means Sunset Shimmer appears on the show.

I see
There was a brief periods last decade where the divas division was actually really good, you actually had some not bad looking ladies that were also pretty good wrestlers
Now it's just beyond horrible -.-
