So I was on Bleacher Report reading: WrestleMania 30: Biggest Missed Opportunties in Event's History! And someone in the comments mentioned this:
I truly think that, that would of really fit WM 19! Without a doubt, and it would of been such a great match in anything. What do you guys think?

It is fine looking back over a decade later...but was Undertaker putting on great matches then? I don't recall him putting on great matches until the recent 5-6 years. Benoit obviously was...and might Bentoit have won the match too?

Chop, chop, chop, no sell, German suplex, no sell, corner punch attempt, no sell, Last Ride.
Alright, so Benoit didn't get as chop-happy until his later years, but yeah, ABA 'Taker wasn't setting the world on fire in the ring in 2003.

From my understanding, the reason Benoit was involved in the tag team title match (in a throwaway team with Rhyno) was because he was going to be Kurt Angle's replacement if he couldn't wrestle Brock Lesnar (seeing as Kurt nearly missed the show due to his neck injury). Putting him up against the Undertaker would've gotten in the way of this taking place (had it needed to be), as they were planning on pulling Benoit from the tag title match and either giving Rhyno another partner or making that match just Los Guerreros/World's Greatest Tag Team.

Did Undertaker vs Benoit ever happen? The match at Mania 19 would have been a classic and may have been enough to make it the greatest Mania ever.
Undertaker was pretty great around this point too. In 2001 he was abysmal, voted worst wrestler of the year by Powerslam readers, but as soon as he had his haircut he became awesome almost instantly and had just come off a couple of classics against Lesnar. Benoit was the best, or second best, in the WWE at the time. It could have been amazing.

Well that certainly would have made all those Streak hype videos in the past few years a little more awkward.

To be fair though WGTT/Rhyno and Benoit/Los Guerreros was badass, I loved it and I think it is one of the most underrated matches of all time due to the card having so many great matches.
On the other side of things Taker vs Show Train is definitely not the best of Takers Mania matches. Hell RVD was put on the pre show I would have happily had him face RVD more than the handicap (or the planned tag with Nathan Jones) at least it would have had some potential. That would mean stopping the Kane/RVD team and taking him out of the Tag Title Hunt but they could have easily reunited HurriKane instead or something

To a degree, I agree. However, they missed out on a great Wrestlemania moment with Benoit/Rhyno not winning the belts. Both men had to miss the previous Wrestlemania due to an almost-career-ending injury. That's why they were joined as a team, and had they come back and won together it would have not only been a great moment, but really helped both become a focal point when they needed it.

That was a the last year of Biker Taker and he was really hitting his groove, he was putting on some good to great matches at that time with the right opponent.

Actually, I was wrong. This is what I found: 02.12.2000 The Undertaker defeats Chris Benoit (12:18) WWF Rebellion 2000 @ Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, UK Pay Per View 29.08.2000 WWF World Heavyweight Title No#1 Contendership: The Undertaker defeats Chris Benoit by DQ (4:13) WWF SmackDown #55 @ Fayetteville, North Carolina, USA TV-Show 14.08.2000 The Undertaker defeats Chris Benoit by DQ (2:54) WWF RAW is WAR #377 @ Civic Center in Providence, Rhode Island, USA TV-Show

Their contest at Rebellion was extremely disappointing. Maybe it was a clash of styles but it resulted in a slow, plodding encounter. If I recall correctly Taker spent most of the match on the mat getting worked over after a pre-match sneak attack by the Radicalz.

It was in 2000 though and the Undertaker was terrible then. He hit his prime during his run 2002 on Smackdown and had great matches with Angle and the rest. I think it would have been better in 2003. If I recall he had possibly the match of his career the month earlier at No Way Out.

I can't remember what his match was at No Way Out 2003 but I suspect you're thinking of No Way Out 2006 because whatever he was doing in 2003 it wasn't as good as that match against Angle.

Well that certainly would have made all those Streak hype videos in the past few years a little more awkward. Triple H pretended like he never feuded with Taker for Wrestlemania 27 so it wouldn't be that different.

Eh, they really haven't had a problem with them cutting Punk out of the packages this year. Besides, they would've changed the promo packages after the incident, just showing key matches from the streak (winning World Titles, vs. Kane, etc.)
