Ric Flair is the most successful member of the Anderson wrestling 'family' being a distant cousin of Arn. Ken Anderson, arguable the most famous wrestler in the modern age with that last name, is not related. And Steve Austin was born Steve Anderson, or Steve Williams, I forget. Steve Williams. Obviously, he couldn't really use that name due to Dr. Death being established by then. I think it may have been Chris Adams who suggested Steve Austin, but I am not positive. Actually, he was born Steve Anderson but when his mom remarried he became Steve Williams.

More fun: Only two of the Anderson family are actually Andersons: Gene Anderson and his son Brad (Zan Panzer in WCW), and neither of the two most famous of the clan (Ole and Arn) were part of the original team, which consisted of Gene and his "brother" Lars.

And I think CW Anderson was 'inducted' into the Anderson family at some indy show a few years back. Machine Gun Karl Anderson is, as far as I'm aware, not kayfabe related to the Andersons, although he certainly has that Anderson look.

In 1990, Paul Roma scored victories at all four PPV's.
He beat the Brooklyn Brawler at the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania VI in dark matches
He was part of Power and Glory with Hercules and defeated the Rockers at Summerslam, scoring a pin on Marty Janetty
And was part of Rick Martel's winning "Visionaries" team at the Survivor Series, and scored a pin on Shawn Michaels.

It's kind of funny how his real name sounds infinitely more like a wrestling name. That said, Steamboat was chosen for a kayfabe relation to a Hawaiian wrestler of note, if I recall. That, and he might not have wanted to be called Dick Blood. We hear Jerry Lawler is suffering from Dick Blood.

Brian Glover aka Leon Aris played Harold Andrews in Aliens 3 & Mr Rottweiler in Bottom.
Big Daddy had his own comic strip in Buster during the early 1980s
Big Daddy's 64 inch chest earned him a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
and......Jimmy Saville had over 100 wrestling matches.

My friend recently told me that he heard on Steve Austin's podcast that the reason wrestlers wear wrist tape is to help a wrestler grip another during an irish whip. I'd always thought wrist tape was just to look cool. I always assumed it was used to stabilize the wrists to prevent them from bending in an awkward position.

Macho Man 1) was a face when he won both his WWE titles, 2) Elizabeth was his manager on both occasions and 3) both wins occured at Wrestlemania.

While creating soundtrack music for the wrestling documentary Lipstick & Dynamite, musician Neko Case discovered one of the women featured in the film, Ella Waldek, was her great-aunt.
Dick Murdoch was a card-carrying member of the KKK.
During the Civil Rights Movement, Sputnik Monroe - the biggest draw in the Memphis territory at the time - refused to work unless the area seating was desegregated. Monroe was such a big draw, the arenas complied.
Farmer Burns, one of the grandfathers of the sport we know today, had such neck-strength that he often appeared at fairs and carnivals, where would be hanged, execution-style. He survived every show. Oh, and he would whistle the tune "Yankee Doodle" during them.

One I just discovered yesterday: Hulk Hogan is now the only wrestler on the (1990) NES "WWF WrestleMania Challenge" box that is still alive. (The others: "Macho King" Randy Savage, Big Bossman, Andre The Giant & Ultimate Warrior.) The headline on the back of the box? "Only the strongest survive..."

Macho Man 1) was a face when he won both his WWE titles, 2) Elizabeth was his manager on both occasions and 3) both wins occured at Wrestlemania. Also, all six of his world championship losses were all to either Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair, and each win involved Hogan or Flair one way or another, either as opponents or via shenanigans.
