Wrestlemania VII had the lowest overall attendance of any Wrestlemania, with 16,158 people attending. To think they expected to sell out the Coliseum. Because if you move your event indoors, the terrorists win.

One I just discovered yesterday: Hulk Hogan is now the only wrestler on the (1990) NES "WWF WrestleMania Challenge" box that is still alive. (The others: "Macho King" Randy Savage, Big Bossman, Andre The Giant & Ultimate Warrior.) Brutus Beefcake was in Wrestlemania Challenge, and he's still alive. edit: just noticed you said on the box You forgot Hacksaw Duggan.

The late Paul Bearer actually managed against Lou Thesz. Paul (as Percy Pringle III) had been in the business about 6 months and Thesz was nearing the end of his career. Thesz was notorious about not liking show business elements - women, midgets, managers, etc. - in the business, let alone his matches. Percy said that for whatever reason, Lou told him he could grab a leg as Lou hit the ropes. The match is going, Lou hits the ropes, Percy goes for the leg...and misses. He said Lou took a couple steps, turned back to look at him and said, "You stupid son of a bitch." Percy said he basically thought, "Well, that's it, my career's over. Lou Thesz done called me a stupid son of a bitch." I'm stealing that last line. That is signature worthy. EDIT: I found a print version of the story. Is there an audio/video version as well? I think he told it in his ROH shoot with Jim Cornette (which I highly recommend, by the way.)

Why didn't I remember that?

Ricky Steamboat, Greg Valentine, Roddy Piper and Bob Orton Jr are the only wrestlers to have appeared at both the first Wrestlemania and the first Starrcade.
26 WWE Hall of Famers appeared at the first Wrestlemania
(Hulk Hogan, Mr T, Roddy Piper, Paul Orndorff, Jimmy Snuka, Bob Orton Jr, Pat Patterson, Wendi Richter, Fabulous Moolah, Andre The Giant, Big John Studd, Bobby Heenan, Nikolai Voloff, Iron Shiek, Freddie Blassie, Barry Windham, JunkYard Dog, Greg Valentine, Jimmy Hart, Bruno Sammartino, Johnny Valiant, Ricky Steamboat, Tito Santana, Gorilla Monsoon, Jesse Ventura, Gene Okerlund.)
And you could probably make a case for a few more that card that should be in it eventually.

By the time Sgt Slaughter's Iraq-sympathising heel character was finally defeated at Summerslam 91, the Gulf War had been over for six months.

Despite both sharing names with rock stars, Sting and Sid Vicious never teamed up.

Wrestlemania VII had the lowest overall attendance of any Wrestlemania, with 16,158 people attending. Good grief, there were more people at WM9 (16.8k) than WM7?!

The "secret handshake" code between wrestlers never really existed, but many perpetuated it in order to out wanna-bes and marks. Soooooooo... That would indicate that there was a secret handshake of sorts...

Ricky Steamboat's real name is Richard Blood 'Richard Blood' is a ring name once used by Tito Santana It's kind of funny how his real name sounds infinitely more like a wrestling name. That said, Steamboat was chosen for a kayfabe relation to a Hawaiian wrestler of note, if I recall. That, and he might not have wanted to be called Dick Blood. Sam Steamboat... Who, for not being related to Ricky, does resemble him. And Dick Blood jokes for 1000.

I put the edit in, so obviously, I knew the answer (albeit after I made the original post). So I am not sure why you posted this. Unless I am missing something (which is entirely possible).

Unless I am missing something (which is entirely possible). 2.5 hours into anything & it becomes hard to remember any new facts they start presenting... That's all. By no means, a critique of you.
