Hell yes. It's the same raunchy ass "Boys' Club" deal that video games and comic books have.
For a minute I swear it was definitely a reason why so many adult males hated on John Cena so vehemently: most of his perceived fanbase were "lesser" wrestling fans and they didn't like him bringing those types of people to wrestling.
I actually do blame the Attitude Era for that as it's not coincidence a lot of the self-important gatekeepers of the wrestling fanbase are about that age to really remember the Attitude Era.

Maybe it's not so much looking down on them but thinking they can harm the atmosphere?
Boozed up men typically have deeper and louder are more likely to lead chants, you only have to listen to the difference in sound between the higher pitched "let's go Cena" and lower "Cena sucks" to hear the difference. Plus if adult men are in the minority and aren't obnoxious they're also less likely swear and boo faces when surrounded kids so would feel they can't enjoy themselves as they would like. Even worse if those kids act like brats while their Mum ignores their behaviour because she's playing with her phone. I'm sure most adult males would rather Raw after WM or ECW style crowds than a more family orientated one.
Of course these are sweeping generalisations. Many embrace the family atmosphere of Chikara and I'm sure many of us have encountered the type of smark that writes THOSE live reports and yearns for a nice normal family of four (a link to that one talking about locking eyes with Orton would be appreciated).

The fans I hate the most are the ones who give nothing a chance. A few guys I know used to be HUGE wrestling fans. I asked if they were going to mania and got a LONG speech about how WWE sucks and nothing is good since ECW closed down. I asked them if they had ever watched WWE recently, to which they mentioned that they turned it on and saw some guy signing (Wyatt) and turned it off 10 seconds later. Never gave it a shot.
Part of the conversation went like this:
ME: It has been really good lately Them: WWE sucks, no good wrestlers like ECW used to have ME: You mean indy wrestlers Them: yeah, its all the stupid slow WWE style ME: What about Daniel Bryan Them: He;s not a real indy, and he just fights against Cena {insert Cena can't wrestle rant here}. In ECW you had to know how to wrestle. Me: Like New Jack Them: New Jacks a better wrestler than anyone in WWE.
I stopped talking to them about wrestling after this. I loved ECW when it came out and lost a lot of interest when it went out of business. BUT, Wrestlemania 30 was MUCH better than any show I ever saw ECW put on. ECW was a great promotion, but I hate people that act like it was the end-all be-all of pro wrestling when ECW had its share of faults as well.

I've never met any fans like you describe. This was literally one of the Rock's(I think might have been Punk) insults towards Cena. Basically how teh Let's go Cena chants are higher pitched meaning woman and children are the majority of the people cheering for him.

Wrestling is essentially preteen programming at its core. To me, fans that claim a comedy segment "talked down to the audience" miss the mark, because when you step back, you realize there's nothing mature or sophisticated about that intense, "big fight" feel they claim should be 99% of a promotion's product. (I personally think it should be about 70%, you need stuff like Santino and Adam Rose to balance out stuff like Lesnar's rampages and Bryan vs. Authority.)
The stuff wrestling attempts to pass off as serious and important- I'm talking about things like the Hogan/Savage/Liz feud, Undertaker's streak, Austin vs. McMahon, etc- is f***ing silly when you try to hold it up to just about anything else, or examine all of their logic loops. Why is a supernatural zombie competing in pro sports? The government should have him on lockdown, considering he can summon lightning. And why doesn't Vince just fire Austin if he doesn't want him representing his company? Why aren't advisors and business associates distancing themselves from Vince while he's making a fool of himself on national TV? Any board with common sense would have thrown him out by July 1998.
This isn't an industry that's capable of well structured and/or thought provoking output anyway, so I think kid and adult fans are all in the same wacky boat. Why be snobby about guys in underwear fake fighting?

ECW was a great promotion, but I hate people that act like it was the end-all be-all of pro wrestling when ECW had its share of faults as well. I've also had a similar conversation with a lapsed fan that just about tested my limits with confrontation. This was after WrestleMania 29 when Cena beat Rock. Guy: John Cena sucks. He's the worst wrestler ever and WWE is dragged down because of him. It's just so retarded. He can't even wrestle. Nobody likes him. ME: Well, actually, he's got a pretty sizable audience who continually buy his merchandise and cheer him. And he's come a long way as a wrestler over the years. Guy: Nope. Cena sucks, he can't wrestle. ME: I'll admit the match with Rock right now wasn't great, but he's had some awesome matches over the years with Shawn Michaels, CM Punk and others. Guy: He was carried. Cena sucks. Nobody likes him. ME: Clearly if nobody liked him then nobody would cheer him. Guy: No, he sucks. I've seen this up front from someone who stopped watching religiously in 2002. So I know for a fact this mindset exists, and any denial of it is probably coming from somebody who thinks similarly, heh.

Why be snobby about guys in underwear fake fighting? While I largely agree with you I'd say wrestling is mostly family programming, that may mean it's mostly aimed at pre-teens but they usually throw a bone to adult fans in the same way cartoons make references for adults or it could be more of a Pixar situation where all ages should be able to enjoy it on much the same level, similarly there are some cartoons that are only intended for adults and others that are purely for kids. I'd also say very few shows are realistic and can hold up to close scrutiny, any show with a supernatural is out, anything historical will have inaccuries, anything office/IT based will be unrealistic, nearly all cop shows feature mavericks that would get fired or cause cases to collapse due to the way they ignore procedure and then there's unrealistic timeframes, lifestyles, murder-rates and all other sort of issues. I think the general rule should be that events and storylines just have to make sense within the world the show has created.

Guys think kids & women cheer for the wrong reasons. I took my wife to a PowerPro show in 1998. Derrick King took on Lance Jade. She cheered Lance because he's a longhaired blonde dude with a good body. I root for Derrick because he's a skinny black guy that did impersonations of other wrestlers (like Shawn Michaels).
My wife says I was being difficult because I don't like Lance. I tell her, no, I like the other guy because he's funny.
