They've been ugly for a while. Since the gloves seem to be about to come off, expect a lot of ugly things coming out. This isn't an indictment of the Vikings or the NFL in general, but any organization with mostly alpha males is going to have a lot of dirty laundry that can be put on display. If a team is lucky, it just turns out that the owner/coach/players like drugs and prostitutes and star players get away with things that get other people cut. If not, then you can have something like Miami Dolphins X (Sandusky + Aaron Hernandez).

The Broncos finally re-watched their live massacre in front of millions of people, www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000366189/article/denver-broncos-finally-rewatched-super-bowl-xlviiiI say good. As somebody on reddit said, they need to go back and re-see everything they did wrong, because ignoring it definitely will not help them to grow as a team. I mean, you can guarantee Peyton's watched it a million times over by now, but this is good for the team. It's funny; we're so very close to football that you'd think Seattle fans would step off the gas about last season, but nope. I swear, and this is the last I'll say of it, I've never seen a more obnoxious and insecure group of fans in my life; it's not enough that they won the Super Bowl by beating the best offense ever (statistically), and it's not enough that they're the best team in football, they're not content until you know it, too. Finally I get what guys like Toxik916 mean when they talk about Seattle fans. I actually feel bad for Seattle lifers; their entire fanbase has been taken over by obnoxious, immature bandwagoners, and when the wheels fall off this season watch how fast the majority of that fanbase turns on their team.

I'll give Seattle a pass for being overbearing with their bragging about winning their first Super Bowl. What tainted my view on them were how hypocritical they were during the fight over the Sacramento Kings. You would think a city that had their team ripped from them wouldn't want to put another city through that same heartache.

If I was a Seattle fan I would not stop crowing about the Super Bowl until we officially couldn't win the next one. They came in and absolutely shut down one of the greatest offenses of all time with cast off and unwanted guys including their HC. Shit, the only way that could have gone better for them was to do it in San Fran or at home.

Seattle fans have every right in the world to celebrate. It was the first Super Bowl victory in franchise history. It was the city's first professional sports championship in over 30 years. Seattle as a sports town has not been bestowed with generations of great fortune and aside from the Seahawks, all they have are the Mariners, who probably aren't about to win a World Series any time soon, so the city and its fans has every right to crow about a victory. What's more is how the game was won. In today's NFL, where every single rule change is tailored to make it easier for offenses and for the scoreboards to light up every week, the Seahawks proved that there is still value in defense, because it was their ferocious, ball-hawking secondary that made one of the historically-great offenses in league history look like chumps. They made Peyton Manning look like Blaine Gabbert in front of a worldwide audience. And wasn't it the Broncos who were pissing and moaning during the playoff run? I distinctly remember a sect of Denver players who were playing the, "We don't get enough respect!" card as they were entering their divisional round matchup with the Chargers. So I guess if it comes down to having an organization that wins its first championship getting a little cocky or a dominant championship contender and odds-on Super Bowl favorites blindly playing the "nobody believed in us!" card, I'll take the jawing from Seattle all day. That would be infinitely more tolerable.

Wheels aren't going to fall off of Seattle this season. They may not be as dominant this year, but they are still very talented and will be in the mix all season.
I think that Denver is in bigger trouble because I've got a feeling that Peyton goes down at some point this season.

They absolutely have every right to celebrate and you'll never see me argue that; it's the obnoxious and insecure way the bandwagoners are celebrating that annoys me. Yeah, a few Bronco players played that card, but I'm not sure what that really matters as that hardly summed up the entire team's mentality throughout the playoffs. I'm just saying there are better ways to go about celebrating a Super Bowl win. I get that it's their first and they're more than entitled to celebrate how they want after what they did to us, but personally speaking it comes across as way obnoxious, insecure and immature.

Meh, every fan base has annoying fans. I try not to lump them all together, even though fans of certain teams in certain sports make it hard to do.
Regarding the bandwaggoners. All good teams have them, especially amongst the younger crowd. Hell my brother went from die hard Mets to Yankees fan in his late 20s. Those are the fans you just gotta ignore. It's the long term fans of teams that are usually the respectful and knowledgeable ones. The obnoxious band wagon fans were usually wearing a different jersey or cheering a different team 5 years previous.

It's not something that really BOTHERS me or anything because I know really good teams have a tendency to bring in bandwagoners, and like you said, every team has their annoying fans.

Titans rookie QB Zach Mettenberger was reportedly "sucker punched" at a Nashville bar over the weekend.
According to the bar's owner, Mettenberger responded to a fellow bar patron yelling "Roll Tide," by saying "Good luck with that," then got hit. "I promise you that

It was moreso the secondary than the whole defense. Seattle wasn't a pass-rushing sack-happy team (they were 3rd in their own division in total sacks), it was basically the secondary doing the dirty work. It's not like they were sacking Denver into oblivion.
And keep in mind that the Ravens and Giants teams that won the prior SB's weren't exactly supreme in the secondary.

I feel that it's moreso the defense in the back that wins SB's more than the front end.
Look at the 2010 Steelers- they had a top-ranked defense, and yet Green Bay put it on them.
OTOH, that Steeler team was kinda sorta slow.
