Does anyone think Donst is going to come back or even Vin Gerard I think Donst already announced he's done working Chikara/Wrestling Is shows. Yep, he announced it on NPWD. |

Got home from You Only Live Twice a short while ago. Great show, lots of fun! Super hot crowd for the main event, unbelievable. Can't wait to find out when King of Trios is and to order my tickets!

Like the comics nerd that I am, I went and made a list of story developments and continuity notes. Didn't know what else to do with it so I'm throwing it up here for posterity. YOU'RE WELCOME: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}
* Tursas returns to CHIKARA as the third member of the BDK trio, ambushing the Spectral Envoy before their match.
* The nephew of the deceased Lester Crabtree, Ashley Remington makes a successful debut, wooing both the CHIKARA audience and his opponent in Chuck Taylor.
* Robbie Ellis debuts as the new owner of CHIKARA, and declares Mike Quackenbush to be the new Director of Fun.
* Kid Cyclone, 3quinox and Create-A-Wrestler II attack 17 after he is eliminated from the 4-corner tag match, in revenge for the slaying of Private Eye Jr. by his hand.
* This year's King of Trios tournament is confirmed.
* The Colony regain their 2011 KOT medals from The Colony: X-treme Force after their match.
* Icarus defeats Eddie Kingston with the CHIKARA Special to become the new Grand Champion.
* A hulking, masked man ("The Titan of Titor?") leads The Flood to attack the newly crowned Grand Champion Icarus and the celebrating CHIKARA roster.
* In his thrall are a hooded Delirious and Solider Ant, who turn on their respective ex-comrades (The Spectral Envoy and Colony) when their hoods are removed.
* The hulking, masked man breaks Kobald over his knee when the latter attempts to intervene. Overall a fantastic show. Rock-solid wrestling throughout with a molten crowd, good feels and quite a few surprises. Can't wait to see it cleaned-up and edited for the DVD/MP4 release. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season is like. REALLY glad they've got this show as a template for how to do this big, ominous storyline while still telling it in the context of a fun wrestling show. Let's hope they only build in momentum from here. Believe. |

I thought Quack said they weren't planning on doing King of Trios or Young Lion's Cup for a while? He was always characteristically non-committal and cagey about it. I think the closest he'd gotten to that was saying that "some" of the "familiar trappings" may not be present at first. I think that was specifically in regards to being asked outright about the YLC so that was always more of a lock for being put away than the KOT, in addition to it never drawing nearly as much. (Despite its totemic and historical importance, but as far as historical importance goes even NJPW doesn't have the YLC anymore, and they invented it and run like five tournaments per year.) |

In all honesty, the YLC shows were the ones I always avoided. They were usually lackluster imo. I liked when it was spread out throughout a number of shows.
