Quick summary: Deucalion beat up Icarus, until he went for the Choke-Breaker, Icarus turned into the CHIKARA Special, Deucalion taps. He calls for the Flood, Jacobs betrays him, Icarus kills Deucalion with DA HAMMAH.
And The Thunder Frog is back.
So yeah, it did seem a little anticlimactic, but El Frogo's return is interesting.

It was a tricky situation with Deucalion. You couldn't really have him just no-sell everything for half a year, and he's really too dangerous to live, but him being one and done was....I dunno, it just seemed too scant.

That is the thing to me. He destroyed how many guys? Then in his second match (I think he was in a Trios match as well), he's killed off. Just seems weird. Lacking. |

It might have been better if he wrestled the season, albeit as a Kane late 1997-esque destroyer, but that might not have been everyone's cup of tea. |

I know in Chikara that nothing is forgotten or unimportant but I don't sense this great relief because Deucalion is gone. He just seems like a footnote to the whole mess that is the last 3 years which makes those he "killed" look worse, IMO. That could change next season for al I know but the season finale it just seems to have ended flat. Maybe that is part of the rebirth though. |
