It's a sensible idea really. If programmes being interrupted by commercials really annoyed people they'd all have watched nothing by Cspan. You get commercials on TV, commercials on many other on demand services and on practically all Youtube videos at the beginning with an increasing number throughout longer length content, and yet all these services are growing in popularity at a very fast rate. Commercials on the WWE network will not really negatively impact anyone's decision on whether to order the product and it could bring in millions in revenue. I DVR everything I watch on TV and fast forward commercials. If this turns into some hulu type crap where I can't fast forward through a batch of commercials every 10 minutes I'm done.

They should just do product placement. I dont mean having Heyman shilling Dairy Queen during promos or "wacky" product placement like that, im talking having companies sponsor the replays or having "promotional consideration" type things.

Yeah, can't even upload episodes of Raw or Smackdown but they want to start shoehorning ads, right? You're never going to get anything outside of the current 30 day delay when it comes to Raw and Smackdown because it lowers the value to NBCU and waiting a year to put ads in, if they do at all, doesn't seem like shoehorning them in. Well, what about old episodes?

Well, what about old episodes? They'll continue to be added slowly over time. They are going to stretch stuff out as much as humanly possible so people will feel the need to stick around and not cancel.

A friend and I split the network, and I've barely used the damn thing. It should be as easy to access and navigate as a video website like YouTube. Like, let's say I want to see Brock Lesnar's mariachi dance from Smackdown in 2004, I should be able to search that and it takes me to that very moment on an episode of Smackdown, with the option to watch the entire episode or just that segment.

Ads during the live stream following shows and even before stuff you watch via on-demand, I can live with. But if they start forcing you to watch ads in the middle of the programming itself--- that is ads that interrupt the middle of a match and take you out of the experience--- then I can't imagine that going over well.
It depends on how they do it, I suppose.

Well, why not cut up each show into segments, and have the next segment queue up as the current one is playing? Most big wrestling fans already know what happened on the big PPVs, but some that didn't watch during the Attitude Era or Ruthless Aggression Era don't know how every single show went down. I'd want to watch every Brock Lesnar segment/match since his debut leading up to winning the title from The Rock at Summerslam in one sit-down or something to kind of see the "rise" of Brock Lesnar, I don't know. I'm just saying the Network's content is not that appealing as of right now, minus some documentaries or whatnot.

Oh I understand, look it's not for everyone, but most people piss away more than 10 bucks a month as it is on stupid crap. But they do things the way they do right now to cut down on server requests. More requests the more things get bogged down across the board and the more expensive everything becomes. Best comparison I could give to what I'm talking about is an MMO (WoW) compared to last years launch of SimCity. In WoW almost everything takes place on client side with not as many requests to the server..but if you use more addons it's more requests and bogs everything down. In SimCity they wanted to do everything on their side and there was a ton of server requests. System couldn't handle it one bit...too much traffic. Got to where they had to remove the fastest game speed just so there'd be less server traffic and you could even attempt to play the game. If they enabled things like you are mentioning they'd have to cut down on their highest streaming resolutions to keep it from collapsing. (which is also why microsoft's "power of the cloud" is complete and utter bullshit about the xbox one but I digress)

WWE wanted to make an online service of at least 30 years of content, and they had to sacrifice about half of it for decent speed and quality.

If it turns into Hulu, I'm done. Same. I want Hulu Plus but I won't pay to watch advertisements. If WWE adds them into their live streams, as others have said, I'd probably be alright but anything more and I'm out.

I'll echo what some of you have said and state that, if they do start running ads, they've lost me as a subscriber.

The network is such a good deal with so much content that I have no problems even if it's like hulu. It's not that big of a nuisance considering this is such a good buy for a wrestling fan.

Does anyone here complaining about ads being inserted in the middle of a match at random, every ten minutes or whatever watch videos from Blip.TV? Like, say, Nostalgia Critic or Atop the Fourth Wall or whatever else is on there? The people that put up their videos on that service seem to be capable of choosing when the advertisements happen, and edit their shows accordingly for those spots so it doesn't interrupt anything.
IF, and I want to stress this, IF WWE does go this route, I imagine that it would be like that, same as it is Hulu where the ads happen at a proper time where the commecials would normally be on any given show. I'm not sure where this "at random" stuff is popping up from, but I would assume this is the case.
And IF WWE goes the route of ads and puts them in the middle of the shows, I say go for it. If they want to please their investors who cried foul because the subscriptions didn't meet their expectations and make more money, why not.
