An interesting new development on NBA jerseys starting in 2014-15. Franchises that have previously won an NBA championship will have a gold tab on the back collar of the team's uniforms. espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11219276/nba-jerseys-now-feature-gold-tabs-collars-indicate-teams-won-titlesI like it. It's simply and classy. However, I think it would be funny if they were to denote the league's most successful franchises over the teams that have won a single championship. Like the Mavericks get a single tab of gold, whereas the Celtics have gold wrapping the entire jersey collar.

That's a pretty good idea. The more gold your team has won, the more gold they'll get on their jerseys.

More jersey news, courtesy of graphic designer Conrad Burry, who obtained Adidas' 2014-15 retail catalog: teams that will be receiving new alternate uniforms for the coming season include the Warriors, Pelicans, Wizards, and Bulls. Teams that will be donning new "pride" uniforms (akin to the Pistons' "Motor City" uniforms or the Blazers' "Rip City" alternates) are the Hawks, Celtics, Nets, Heat, Magic, Warriors, and Suns.
None of those jerseys have been leaked yet, but so help me, if the Celtics "pride" uniform says "BEANTOWN", I'm buying every last one and burning them in a bonfire, so they may never see the light of day.

Pacers aren't getting a Pride jersey, but they'll have their early 1990s jerseys as alternative attire this season.

Grooming him to replace Pop? He's 54, so it depends on how long Pop wants to coach

Well I am happy as a Dallas fan to know that their jerseys will have a gold tag on the back.

Free agent F Rashard Lewis has agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Mavericks.
The Hornets are reportedly considering the possibility of signing unrestricted FA Lance Stephenson.

How many franchises have won NBA titles anyway? And would they count ABA titles for current franchises that won those but never won in the NBA, like the Nets? Though the Knicks get a tab so even though they haven't won shit since the 70's, a title's a title. So yay?
Speaking of alternate uniforms, I hope if the Knicks get one again they do away with those hideous orange jerseys.
I also want the Celtics' "pride uniform" to say "BAHSTAHN" but it'll probably be something like "BOSTON STRONG."

Right now the teams that would get gold would be the Celtics, Lakers, Bulls, Spurs, 76ers, Pistons, Warriors, Heat, Knicks, Rockets, Wizards, Hawks, Blazers, Mavs, Bucks and Kings (Could also give the Thunder it as well). So 16 of the 30 teams. Adding the ABA teams gives us the Pacers and Nets so that brings us to 18. I'd almost like it if the length of the gold tab on the jersey corresponded to the number of titles, so for example the Mavs tab is one inch wide while the Celtics is near a foot and a half.

@rick_bonnell The Charlotte Hornets will sign Lance Stephenson to a 3-year contract, the last season a team option, the Observer has learned.
@rick_bonnell Under terms of the deal Stephenson will make $9 million next season and in 2015-16, with a slight raise in the 2016-17 team option.

This is gonna make the Pacers less talented, but all I gotta say for Lance is, "Don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out." He will never find a fandom as forgiving for his nonsense as the Pacers.

Supposedly, he wants to do it to prove himself as a superstar, but he will have to adjust his attitude if he wants to succeed. Plus, it's time for a new thread.

I'm not crazy about the Stephenson signing for Charlotte but the potential reward if he gets his shit together is high. Hoping the Hornets can also pick up Boozer.
Man, between the Hornets/Cavs/Heat/Pacers/Wizards/Raptors the East is actually looking kind of awesome right now. The playoffs should be a hell of a lot more competitive.

I leave Lawrence for Colorado for 3 days. I come back to see that Lance is finally signed. If he doesn't act like he did last year, I am fine with it. He could be high reward/high risk. Boozer to Charlotte would be interesting. I bet he goes wherever the money is, which isn't Charlotte.
