Also, I have recently performed my first unintentional Brutality. What made it especially awesome is that it was against Shinnok in a single fight against the CPU (and also one of my first wins in Hard difficulty. Seriously, am I the only who feels there's a big spike between Medium and Hard?). I was playing as Kung Jin and as I saw Shinnok was running low on health and I was at a good distance, I decided to play it safe and shoot an arrow and brilliantly, it pierced right through his chest with his heart hanging out. I actually wondered what happened for a second because I was expecting a "FINISH HIM!" and when it didn't happen I was wondering if Shinnok somehow got me first or something. There's something oddly satisfying about doing it accidentally. It's like you played so awesomely that the game is awarding you an especially satisfying victory. That alone made me like Kung Jin a little bit more. On that topic, do faction kills only work in online fights (which would make sense so you can't just farm them)? Cause I've been trying to pull them off against CPU opponents and it doesn't seem to work. I love the Brutalities (especially the stage-specific ones they've started adding), but I'm not a massive fan of the whole "last hit in the fight" thing. Maybe it's just me, but it's not super easy to even get the opponents health down to where a last hit can happen, plus there's conditions to meet and stuff. I don't know. As for your question, you can do faction kills anytime you can do fatalities, as far as I know. For Lin Kuei, you have to be full screen away for it to work, so I'd imagine it's similar for your faction. |

I have a blister on my thumb now and still didn't break it!! Arrgghh! My biggest recommendation for Test Your Might is to use both thumbs. Your left thumb, press down two buttons (X+Square, for example), and right thumb, the other two, and quickly exchange between the two. It's a great deal easier than trying to hit one button at a time, and fills the meter substantially quicker. |

Here's a trick that dates all the way back to MK1 but that has always worked for me in any of the games that had the Test Your Might challenge (as well as other "tap any button as fast as possible" challenge in a video game): firmly grab your controller with the left hand (with one finger over the button to strike) and with your right, rapidly rub your index and middle finger back-and-forth against the action buttons. That way, you will greatly reduce the time between button presses and it makes the Test Your Might tower trivially easy. On an unrelated note, isn't Tremor supposed to be out yet? I have the Kombat Pack and he's still not in my roster... |

As there is no one even remotely similar to Dhalsim (Noob Saibot got the nod in MK9) this could be tricky.
Leaning to Reptile at the moment as he is characterful and has lots of amusing specials.
But who is anyone else using?

As far as default characters go, Takeda is probably the one I'm best with, especially the Ronin variation, followed closely by Kitana and Jacquie, all of which have some pretty nasty combos that are easy to pull off (and tough for the opponent to block, let alone dodge). However, the character I am truly best with is, of all people... Jason Voorhees. |

I will never hold it against someone for liking Scorpion or playing as Scorpion. He is genuinely fun as hell! But the sheer volume of Scorpion players online is ridiculous, and like 90% of them are just cheap as hell. |

But who is anyone else using? I main Erron Black in his Outlaw variation. I tend to go for more of a pure rushdown approach, and he fits that perfectly. Also, if you went for Noob Saibot in MK9, try giving Stunt Double Johnny Cage a shot. |

So, Predator was released today for Kombat Pack owners and... holy shit is he awesome. I love his moves, X-Ray, Brutalities, Fatalities, good lord. Far better than Jason and right next to Tanya as the best DLC characters so far. Can't wait for Tremor.

I like the little things they gave him. The laugh I thought was Billy from Predator actually changes depending on who he is fighting.
If you choose his non-helmet variation he loses the thermal mapping viewer and sees only in red.
His ship appears in the background cloaked if you do a brutality.

If you haven't done the Klassic Fatalities yet, you're missing out. They're really great. The classic win pose after performing them is a really good touch.
Noticed Jax has a locked "Arm Rip" fatality last night, so I guess we're getting a Klassic Fatality Pack #2 in the future. Didn't take the time to look and see who else is getting them in pack 2, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Mileena and/or Kitana get some classic fatality love.
