So last night I was watching Payback when I ended up with some unexpected company. The only match left was the main event so I paused the show and hung out with my friends for a little while, planning to simply resume the show when they left. At some point my phone vibrated. I checked it, thinking it was a text or something. It was actually a message from WWE via the WWE Network App on my phone. "The Shield swept Evolution..." that's all I had to read. 3 f***ing words that just completely spoiled the main event for me. Mind you, this message was sent right after the PPV ended.
It's not very often that you get such a short spoiler that just spoils things so much, but there it is...thanks WWE, you f***ing suck.

If you don't want to be told about events that have already AIRED don't have the WWE Network app on your phone. You can vent here all you want but you really can't blame WWE for this one or make any sort of logical request for them to change.

Well I mean...the app is on my phone so that I can watch shows on my phone. I had been watching Payback on it earlier in the evening before switching to the PC. I didn't even have to open the notification to see the spoiler, it was at the top of my phone as soon as I checked it. I just didn't expect that sort of thing to happen. What on Earth is the purpose of immediately sending the results to people like that? I realize I can just disable push notifications for the app, and I will...but damn. Yea, I'm venting, but this could happen to anybody so I think you guys should know about it. I still enjoyed watching the match when I got to it, but the drama was completely gone since I already knew the outcome and in such detail.

... The more interesting part about this thread is why you had friends show up at 3:30am on a Sunday.

I really don't like the WWE Network App spoilers either. And the actual notification is the spoiler, which means it's readable and on to the top line of the notification line.
I try to not pay attention if it's the WWE logo on my phone when an event is happening tho.

With the way things are nowadays with real-time updates through apps, social media networks and 24/7 news, you have to come to terms with the fact that if you don't want to be spoiled, stay away from that respective medium.
Case in point: I follow WWE on Instagram. They post pics/results after every match. One month I knew I was not going to catch a PPV until after midnight. But I knew I was going to be using Instagram before then. So, very simple solution... I unfollowed WWE on Instagram until I had watched the PPV. And there you have it. No spoilers.
So, same goes for the app. If you're missing a big event, don't open the app and, like someone else said, shut off push notifications.

However, some phones don't have that functionality; if memory serves, only Android 4.1 and beyond does. I'm not sure about iOS, though. Do Not Disturb mode would probably do it, if not just pop into settings and turn the WWE App alerts off before the PPV and on afterward.

This happened to me during NXT Arrival. The feed crapped out before the main event, then later my phone alerted me that Adrian Neville won the title. I disabled push notifications that night. Hasn't been a problem since.
