Why don't they just demand the $60 for 6 months upfront?
Or have a scaling factor like:
$10, 1 day (then $1.67 per day after that until it reaches the $20 week) $20, 1 week (then $3.33 per week after that until it gets to the $30 month) $30, 1 month (then $10 for the next month) $40, 2 months (ditto) $50, 3 months (then $3.33 per month until it reaches the $60 for 6 month) $60, 6 months (then $6.67 per month until you reach the $100 year) $100, 1 year (then $100 per year, if you stick with it for 5 years, then you get to keep it for the lifetime with no extra payments) $500, Lifetime (as long as the WWE Network exists)

If you were going to try and get everyone here on your side, you could have at least explained yourself properly. You didn't even mention trying to get the free trial before you edited the OP.
Also (wrongly) using lawyer talk probably didn't help. If you signed up for the free trial, cancelled before the week ended, and they still charged you....yeah, you'd probably be in the right here.

So remember guys: when Michael Cole tells you how to buy a phone, turn it on, connect it to the internet, download the app, launch it, sign up for a WWE account, and then choose "Network" as YOUR PORTAL, this is why.

Maybe someday they'll have different subscription options, but on launch they just want to get people signed up and committed. A $9.99 monthly payment much easier to swallow for most people than a $59.94 upfront payment.

He got a trial alright...and was found GUILTY! Another reason why Hawk Jefferson, Attorney at Law is FAN's winningest attorney. So are you or aren't you a lawyer? The 'three years into a degree' thing has me a bit confused...

I love the WWE fan boys, who will even favor in the side of the WWE when they are legally in the wrong. And I love people that try to hide behind the law but don't understand it. I'm three years into my degree that's gonna let me, oh hey, be a lawyer. This is baseline, introductory course work on contract disputes. They advertised that signing up in a non-trial capacity would require a six month agreement from customers i.e. if you want it, you pay for it for six months even if you only want two. Unless there's a loophole in the terms of service that you agreed to, you're over a barrel. Here's how the law looks at it, your name is attached to the account, as is your personal banking information, the IP they have on record is yours, they likely have a record of data sent to that IP, you paid for at least one month of service without reporting the charges as suspicious activity to your bank, and seemingly had no contact with WWE Network customer service prior to deciding to cancel the service despite agreeing to six months. WWE isn't in the wrong legally, they've offered no less than two trial periods wherein you didn't have to pay for access as long as you cancelled prior to the trial period. Agreeing to terms of service is the same as putting pen to paper or verbally agreeing to something. They're all contracts and with the litany of information required (not the least of which is an account that's tied to your e-mail which also has all sorts of personal info attached) it's hard for you as a consumer to remotely try and prove that it wasn't you that signed up or that they deceived you. In fact, you'd be committing fraud by trying to convince them that it wasn't you that signed up.

Worst of all, there's a 90 day no compete clause after your contract ends.

Agreed, and I'd be much happier if *ahem* certain other pay services would allow 3 or 6 month subscriptions to work as such.

Sometimes, I see people get dogpiled on the board and feel a bit sorry for them, that it's a little unfair or it's taking it too far. Never felt that way here. There's getting it wrong, and then getting defiant in how wrong you got it. Okay, this was a pretty obscure pull, plus, I love Skullomania, so you rock.

Maybe someday they'll have different subscription options, but on launch they just want to get people signed up and committed. A $9.99 monthly payment much easier to swallow for most people than a $59.94 upfront payment. Actually, it's a little known fact, but you can buy an upfront six month chunk of the Network for $59.99 through Apple TV (and since it uses your Apple ID, you can buy it with pre-paid cards) and you don't even need to give your info to WWE (although, you are giving it to Apple, so pick your poison, I guess). Also, someone here mentioned that your can "cancel" your subscription, if early enough into it, which doesn't actually end the service as it just makes you pay your six months in one chunk and gives you access to it until the six months is up (I also assume it doesn't auto-renew). As for the other subscription models, they're using this system as mentioned above because they want people locked in and giving them a constant stream of money. Also, offering one week at $10 might sound dumb for a customer, but if they're just looking to buy Mania, spending $10 the week of the show is still better than spending $60 over six months. So short term packages, unless they're like the trial and they disappear before a PPV, aren't financially viable. As for going on the flip side, a year subscription at a better value could be viable down the road but they really want to reach their goal now, so it will have to wait. As for Lifetime, no way. This isn't an MMO where they expect that some people will stop paying/playing after a certain amount of time, so there could be a way to make money off of a forever subscription; this is like Netflix or MLB.TV where they're expecting a client to subscribe to their service in perpetuity, so capping the amount of money they could make off of someone would hurt their bottom line.

Wow. What a thread this has turned out to be.
As has been said earlier, the only way to stop being charged for the six-month commitment is if for some reason WWE can no longer charge you in the manner you selected, i.e. you cancelled your credit card you signed-up with. I have heard of someone who has 'cancelled' their WWE Network this way.
Of course you can pretty easily choose to have your subscription where it will not automatically be renewed for another six months. Since you've kind of already paid for the six months, you might as well keep it for the rest of that period and find things on the Network that you like.

I don't know about the Triple Powerbomb. Considering this went on for pages, I'd say it's more like that vicious beating Hunner gave to Flair that time he turned on him. Dude got filled with more holes than swiss cheese, haha. This story is so filled with holes it became Robocop C'MON MAN. I just got over that. Why you gotta bring up Alex Murphy into this?
