{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Several characters have tried to double cross Thanos throughout the years. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Plus, at this point he's 'just' Thanos the Mad Titan. He doesn't have the gems, er, stones yet. He's really powerful; but not "gauntlet" level. Ronan woulda cowered away from him if he didn't have the stone. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}But still, I have to agree, Thanos came off as a bit of a chump.
Double crossed over and over, did bugger all to Ronan in revenge and was wearing an all gold suit that didnt really work.
Plus I didn't like voice.
I'm going to stop now. I need to see this film again because at the moment I seem to be the only person whose seen it who isn't feeling it.....

I can get that; I just look at it like this is him in the 70s Starlin originals, where he was still building his power base. Powerful, but not "hushed tones" threat yet.
Honestly, was just jazzed to see him on-screen at all.
I'll agree I woulda liked a post credit something.

Anybody else notice this is the second Marvelverse movie that ended in a Marvin Gaye song? Captain America ended with Trouble Man and Ain't No Mountain High Enough was almost the last one played in GotG. Not complaining at all, in fact i kind of like it to be honest. But do you guys think its a coincidence or a connection?

I just saw it. First Marvel film I've seen and it was awesome. Laughed, shed a couple of tears and dodged a lot (the 3D version was excellent). The post credit was interesting. The adults laughed like crazy while the kids in the audience had some of the best WTF looks I've ever seen. Cannot wait for the sequel.

I loved this film. Also, I wanna credit this movie's ad campaign with finally killing the thought of that damn ugly dancing baby whenever "Hooked on a Feeling" plays. Much better to be reminded of this movie.

Funfact:
Laura Haddock who played Star Lord's dying mother had a small role in Captain America: The First Avenger credited as autograph seeker.

I think I like it more than The Avengers. The post credit scene would have been better if someone on twiiter had not spoiled it in the weirdest way {Spoiler}{Spoiler}They said "I did not know The Miz was in this movie"

DAMN YOU Mizerable SIG! It stands on its own better than Avengers, which needed the other movies to set it up. This executed a full story, arcs for every character, scenes between each team member that grew their relationship, and had more relatable characters. All in two hours.

I really think I must have missed something here.
Mayhaps I went in just expecting more? Or maybe it's because these are the characters I have the most attachement too when it comes to Marvel; the cosmic side of things has always been my favourite, but I'm just not feeling this one.
What is wrong with me?!

Did I see Lloyd Kaufman making a cameo in the prison?
Know James Gunn did some work for Troma in the past.

Real inside reference early on--the pink chick in Quill's ship at the beginning named Bereet? Well she's an actual character from Bill Mantlo's run on the Hulk. And of course Mantlo created Rocket Raccoon; and he featured in that same Hulk run. marvel.wikia.com/Bereet_%28Earth-616%29

What is wrong with me?! I had that with Thor a bit, I loved it, but it was exactly what I expected. it was the characters I loved on the big screen,so much so that it kind of tapered the excitement to see them.
