Actually that was all Cody's idea and he had to fight for it. If it weren't for him it would have never changed. Heh, I always thought the 2000's IC belt looked pretty world title-esque. It's definitely a nice belt, though I can't say it's going to make many peoples top belts lists years from now. The old Intercontinental belt is timeless though, funnily another belt I'd buy as a world title.

I was hoping they bring back the Winged Eagle Belt.

All the belts should have never changed from the established Hulkamania era titles. They're trophies, and part of the prestige is that you can literally hold the same belt as the legends that inspired you, instead of just a soulless toy prop that means nothing historically.
I mean, they don't go ahead and do a full new, redesign of the Stanley Cup. It should be the same principle with wrestling titles.

I feel like they sort of get that, and it's the reason why they kept the Big Gold Belt around post-brand split....to use as a soulless toy prop.

The best thing about the Undisputed title is it's simplicity. There's not a lot to the belt, but that's what makes it stand out. Unfortunately, that's also why it won't fly in today's WWE, where everything has to be extravagant and over the top, like the Spinner Belt or the current Giant W With Gems belt design.

All wrestling belts are marketing tools not signs of accomplishment. WWE wants something that is larger than life that kids will beg mom for. You want a WHC replica or ECW belt, go to all-star belts and buy it. Otherwise get used to the look of the 21st century belt cause it ain't going back.
The idea of title belts that resemble something from sporting events, is past tense. I don't like it but I get it.

The idea of title belts that resemble something from sporting events, is past tense. I don't like it but I get it. If John Cena started wearing say the winged eagle, kids would want it just as much as anything else. They'd want what their hero is wearing, not some blinged-out shit pile. I think WWE just convinces themselves that they know what kids want. When the reality is, the belt, whatever belt, is simply a costume accessory for a child's favorite wrestler/character, no different than a cowl or utility belt for Batman, or a Superman cape. A reinvention of the wheel is unnecessary. And for example, if the Spinner never existed, and Cena just had the undisputed belt he took from JBL instead the whole time, it'd have sold just as well.

I feel that the current Championship is the best one of them all. I like the WWE logo against the black background. Simple and majestic. No globes or eagles needed. The only thing I'd change are the letters in CHAMPION. I'd paint them black so they will stand out more. But still it is far better than any of the others. Also it was the title worn by the greatest Champion of them all. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}

Since the current Heavyweight Champion (whomever it ends up as) will be carrying two belts again, how would you guys feel about the original Undisputed title belt being brought back in place of the two belts? I always thought the Undisputed Title belt was a very sharp title bet. It was huge, and it made the championship look important. I would love it. It's my favorite Championship Belt ever.

No and they also either need a new IC Title or to at the very least get a black strap for the current one

I wish. It's absolutely miles ahead of every other title in terms of appearance...

It would be better if the globe was blue, and that thing saying "World Wrestling Entertainment" was removed.

All I want is a totally neutral belt. No name plate. No custom side plates. Just a strap, a globe, the WWE logo, the word "Champion", and gold.
I hate it when somebody scores a huge win over the champ for the belt, and it still has the now former champion's name on it in the pictures.
So the Eagle belt, Attitude era, or Undisputed title belts are all perfect. No more custom belts.
