Oh that's just silly now. It isn't. Do you really believe that Costa Rica, who defeated Italy and crushed Uruguay, have really been outdone by English brilliance? It's a dead match. Nothing at stake. No reason to go out of their way to win it. The England that just lost to Italy and Uruguay ? Look doesn't matter what the team is - they all want to beat England. No way they phone it in. Certainly was not mentioned in the commentary either in-game or during the game itself. I think a bunch of ex-footballers might notice if they were 'phoning it in'.

No doubt Suarez will complain about the English media bullying him and having it in for him rather than standing up for his actions.

Mikael Forssell just called Luis Suarez as a "real life Hannibal Lecter".

As Bobby Heanan would say "In a total act of cowardice Giorgio Chiellini tries to knock Saurez's teeth out with his shoulder".

Italy and Uruguay had something to play for. Costa Rica didn't. England aren't that big a deal that teams in dead matches want to beat them. As for commentators and ex-footballers, they are often deluded cliche machines. I pay little to attention to most of them.

Why does he keep biting people. I mean who thinks up right away to stop the other player by a bite/chomp on their shoulder in this sport. Gonna be honest: It made me laugh when I saw it, after that ridiculous dive, knowing his history of doing it before.

Suarez is a nutter. Always been one. The only positive I suppose is that it didn't happen during a Liverpool game when the backlash would have been far greater.
He'll be banned for the rest of the World Cup I'm sure.

Suarez is scum, after biting somebody three times he needs a proper global ban from playing in anything for a lengthy period of time. If he was a dog he'd have been put down. Anybody know how extraordinary cases like this are treated in the World Cup? I'm guessing/hoping they're not limited to a three match ban. Edit: Seems they can ban him for two years, like that will ever happen. www.express.co.uk/sport/football/484571/Liverpool-star-Suarez-faces-a-maximum-TWO-YEAR-ban-after-BITING-ChielliniAlso what are the odds a WWE wrestler winds up with a biting gimmick?

I'm not sure about being given long bans but if they are to ban Suarez for the incident then FIFA need to be fair and allow players to appeal yellow and red cards and then rescind them where necessary. If they are to use video evidence to punish someone for an incident that the referee didn't see, then it is only fair to look at other footage where the officials did not see the whole picture.

Any less a player would have seen their last days as a footballer.

Any less a player would have seen their last days as a footballer. There's better and worse players and even teams who have done a lot worse than him down the years, yet were still allowed to play on. Not defending Suarez for biting anyone but I put that lower on the offence list than say, bribery or match-fixing.
