WWECW stable featuring CM Punk for like a minute. Although I believe there was also a tag team in WCW or NWA, I forget which. PS. I did NOT actually enjoy the New Breed....although I did like Elijah Burke. From the far off year of 2002 where Dusty Rhodes is president! Oh dear...it was worse than I thought.

They would have done better if they were simply Barry Windham and Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw.

Jerry Lawler was not a fan because blackjack was just too high of a number.

The New Age Outlaws were quite good in their prime as well. None of those measure up to The Breed, The Age Outlaws, and The World Order though. But how did they hold up to the Old Age Outlaws?

Is anything with the words, "The New" ever any good? (Huey Lewis and) The New(s), for one.

Awesome look; if they would have been around five years earlier with a different name, we'd be hearing about them more.

Goddammit. I'm just going to be wishing that Bradshaw still had that mustache every time that I see him now. Thanks for nothing OP.

I do remember New Blackjacks doing a lot of local media in different cities where the original Blackjacks were popular as a way to try to bring in the interest of older fans who hadn't watched the product in some time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe these appearances were ever even mentioned on WWF TV.
Truth be told, it came at the worst possible time. Three years earlier, they would have worked as a close thing to realism in an exaggerated gimmick era. Three years later their smash-mouth style could have worked the same way the APA did. Three years after that during the nostalgia boom it could have been a worthwhile self-aware gimmick. But in 1997 when the WWF was trying to shift as far away from that type of gimmick as possible, it had everything working against it.

Fun Fact: Vince would only give Windham and Bradshaw contracts if they could grow awesome mustaches. Two hours later the deal was signed.

Is anything with the words, "The New" ever any good? No. You're either emulating something that was crap, and no one wants to remember, or you're emulating something great, and you'll never live upto it. Bullshit. I enjoyed both the New Breed and the New World Order. As good as they were, they never quite lived up to the legacy of The World Order.

Every time theyre brought up i think of a teary-eyed Dewey Foley asking his parents "doesnt Santa know i hate the New Blackjacks?" (from foley's second book).

Bullshit. I enjoyed both the New Breed and the New World Order. What was the New Breed Again? One of the weirdest damn stables I've ever seen. They took a teacher (Matt Striker), a vampire (Kevin Thorn), a big athletic guy (Marcus Cor Von/Monty Brown), and a smaller athletic guy (Elijah Burke/D'Angelo Dinero) and told them "Hey, you're a stable now. Have fun with it."

I just want to say this thread is why I really enjoy going to here. I make a rhetorical blunder and it helps sparks both jokes and discussion.
Also I enjoyed the idea of the new breed(Now that I remember them), but I think it goes into the idea of WWECW in its early stages. I think they tried to emulate something that in that day couldn't really be emulated without breaking several bones.
I still miss Monty Brown...and the POUNCE!

To me, Barry never fit the Blackjack gimmick, character or looks-wise, which is ironic in a way given who his dad was, while Bradshaw seemed much more comfortable in the role. Either way, an aimless team with no real life expectancy.
