They going try to rest him for 6 weeks The rest/rehab/injection route rarely works. It all eventually leads to the big TJ. If I'm not mistaken, Matt Harvey was going to try that last year. Problem is once the ligament starts to tear, it's only a matter of time before it blows out completely.

Was seriously hoping the Mets could sweep Atlanta yesterday, but the old Mets offense (read: the offense at it's hit for most of this season, seemingly) reared its ugly head again.
Still, a series win against the Fish would at least carry them into the break riding a pretty good run. I just want to see them get to .500 this season to set the stage for next year, and I do think they can pull it off, but, welp, better get started now.

The AL East is now Baltimore's to lose unless Toronto can actually have a strong second half for once. Even if Tanaka miraculously is fine after his rehab stint and doesn't need TJS, that's still six weeks without a guy carrying your team and your piecemeal starting rotation. And the Red Sox and Rays just look lost, though it's still a pretty long season so who knows if they can turn it around.

The Mets can suddenly hit home runs at Citi Field, leading Alvarez and the Marlins 6-1 through 5 innings.
Last night had me scared that the LOLMETS offense was back, but I think that's more that they just turn into Jello any time they face Aaron Harang.
Meanwhile, Zimmerman walks off the mound against Philadelphia; not wishing harm at all on one of the best arms in the game, but him being out for any significant length of time just reopens the NL East for business at the very minute I started to think the Nats were ready to begin running away with things.
I actually feel a bit for Atlanta today, though; they played a night game in Queens last night, got on their plane and got to Chicago, and then played, and lost, a day game today. MLB really needs to get their shit straight on that; you shouldn't have a night game on getaway day leading into a day game barring something like a doubleheader forcing the issue.

Well that Cardinals game went a totally different way than I expected. Glad to see the redbirds have found that power that's been eluding them all year. Now if the starting rotation can settle down and get it together, things will be very fun to watch during the 2nd half.

I realize they record those things a week or so ahead, but the promo that has been running all week for the Fox Sports 1 game of the week keeps touting the St. Louis Cardinals vs. the 'Red Hot' Milwaukee Brewers. I assume they mean those red hot losers of 10 of 11 Brewers.
