I thought it was largely foolish at the time and meant basically nothing. But on the other channel I got to see Bischoff challenging Vince to a fight, so it was par for the course. I sorta wish WCW had sent some vicious guys out there like the Steiners, Scott Norton, and Ernest Miller to beat the crap out of DX, haha. Let's just say I doubt DX would have invaded an ECW show if it had been in town that night. The Steiners, Scott Norton, AND Ernest Miller? Norton would have made them eat gravel and like it all by himself.

It was the "Al Capone's vault" of pro wrestling. A moment built up so prominently, only for like literally nothing of any consequence to occur. And they still pretend it was amazing and groundbreaking. I often wonder if there are young fans, with zero frames of actual reference, who are actually brainwashed by this and now believe it. How dare you suggest the King of Kings, the Grand Poobah, the COO, the Master of the 619 Triple H and those other guys didn't singlehandedly destroy WCW with their mighty tank.

SHUTCHERMOUTH! That was clearly the turning point in the Monday Night Wars! As an aside, didn't they have Hunter flying a plane or some shit? www.youtube.com/watch?v=rG5e3J1wnd0yes. they did. it was pretty horrible, and they'll never mention it on air. "I'm in the COCKpit and I've got my hands on my joystick." Holy shit, I had totally blanked on this since it aired. Tremendous.

Someone tells him that DX is invading again, so he goes out and beats up some poor schmuck he thinks is a member of the group.

It was like when kids egg someone's house and they're like "Yeah, we showed him!". It's not even in the same realm of the flaming bag of dog poop in that no one was actually seen coming out to see the "problem". It didn't actually accomplish anything and it just showed how petty and uninspired the WWF was at actually coming up with something that'd actually force a change.
Of course, in the same vein that they'll never bring up how little it actually accomplished, they'll never say how Trips and gang just acted like a bunch of thirteen year olds who just found their first porno and think they're hilarious by making as many stupid sex puns as humanly possible.

Not sure anyone is trying to tell anyone that THAT was the actual moment where the war shifted to WWE's favour. It's on the program because it's a show about the Monday Night Wars and DX invading WCW has something to do with that topic.

I've done a thread on this very thing. ALWAYS cracks me up how they play it like it mattered in the scheme of things.

WCW were shook, they all soiled their pants! DX were waiting to jump them outside! Ernest Miller called his mama! It was the greatest night in the history of our sport.

That's hilarious. The only thing missing was a DX beach volleyball scene.

I'm just disappointed that we didn't get footage of Rick Rude in the tank and then, later on in the show, as one of the WCW defenders warding it off (not that it actually happened like that but still).

We need a gif of the DX tank. Google delivered this one. Seriously, though, with 2014 eyes I honestly think DX was kind of terrible.

WWE DID YOU KNOW?!
The famous tank that DX used is now kept in the Smithsonian and in United States emergencies, is used to drive the Declaration of Independence to it's secret location and stored along side it! The only people allowed to drive it are the President of the United States and The King of Kings, Triple H!

Well, I was a WCW fan so no. And that's sort of why it isn't such a big deal... it didn't matter to you, unless you were a WWE fan. No matter what happened, the DX Invasion wasn't going to be a game-changer for WWE, as a matter of fact they are lucky it didn't blow up in their faces, if you ask me. What if WCW had just decided to let them in the building in their tank and put it on TV as the hook of the program? "You'll have NO IDEA who visited the arena here this afternoon! Yes, you are looking at them! The five members of D-Generation-X have come to visit WCW! More details, tonight, on Nitro!" You don't think that would have popped a rating for WCW?

DESTROYING THE WWF, JUST LIKE I DESTROYED YOUR BUDDIES! AND THEN, WCW WILL KILL WWF LIKE I'M GONNA KILL YOU, BY CRUSHING THEM...JUST LIKE THIS!! *splat*

Remember that time when Vince Sr and Bruno Sammartino smiled uncomfortably as they waited for security to remove that senile homeless man from the WWWF party?

Is that Crockett Sr? He and McMahon Sr were partners.
Actually back in the day, all the promoters were partners. Vince Jr. is the one that made it a competitive environment.
